You all are forgetting what empowers the cartel to be able to charge those prices to begin with. Insurance companies, and that includes the largest insurer (Medicare and Medicaid AKA the federal and state governments) have literally prevented the free market from setting a fair price and other regulations prevent adequate supply for the insulin or other medications and guaranteed the best profits for the powers that be. The state producing insulin is just more of the same, the working people will bear the cost, the elites will take their profits, and only those who agree to be vaxxed to infinity will get their government subsidized insulin.

Why doesn't the private sector make a new company that manufactures insulin? Why must the govt do it?
I do think it's a good idea to have insulin / medicine mfg plants in the USA. I'm suspicious of govt making them though - I think this is a plan towards the govt "ensuring the human right to FREE!!! healthcare for all".

Newsome announced that CA will make its own insulin.
I can finally say I just plain agree with him on something. All the bullshit talk about lowering drug prices with this law or that law.. Nope...
Insulin is patented, with publicly available descriptions of EXACTLY how to make it. This is the EXACT reason the patent system exists, so the public can produce a common good.
Everyone has been bitching for 10 years about how it is so cheap to make insulin, and the drug companies are just profiteering... THIS is how we fix medicine... MAKE MORE.
Next step, instead of "single payer", build a hospital!!! Just one to start is fine!!! Also NO BONDS to do it.
I encourage every conservative/republican out there to wholeheartedly agree with Newsome on this. It will freak out the liberals you have been fighting with for years.
Their heads will explode. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN HES DOING THE RIGHT THING!!!"" YOU'RE UNREASONABLE YOU CAN'T AGREE WITH US!!!!
It will I think wreck their minds if you do it.
