I wonder if there's some strategic changes we could make that would make a decent dent in getting money out of politics? I don't know what they might be, but I imagine they exist.

Getting such changes implemented would probably be tough.

I think term limits would help and thus be worth doing, but I'm doubtful it alone would bring much improvement.

Strong punishments for corruption, maybe hanging them like vermin on live tv, would probably help. If some popular influential people started swaying public sentiment towards realizing how much damage and human progress this corruption saps from society, it might go a long way towards making the populace justify brutal punishments against them. Currently, it seems like crimes that affects many millions of people get the kid glove treatment, when they should get brass knuckles or glass shard wraps.

Such changes getting actually done seem so unimaginable though, as all those currently in power will fight it with all they have. I guess this is why revolutions are sometimes needed - its the only realistic way to make changes.
