At 1:48, the newscaster says the screams from the children were removed from the video. Is that even possible?

Is it possible to delete some sounds out of a video but leave other sounds in the video? Is that possible to do? To me, it would seem unpossible. But, I do not know. Does anyone else know?

Sounds of a specific frequency range can be filtered while keeping other sounds outside that range.

Look, it's pretty easy for somebody in an intelligence agency to just completely replace the sound. Hasn't anybody ever seen a film or television show before?

I'm no expert, but I'd imagine with today's software, it's not hard to isolate a particular sound frequency and then remove it from the clip. I did NOT watch the link but screams are generally at a higher pitch than background noise.

They could easily remove certain sounds, and they can do much more than just remove certain frequencies like high/low pass filters etc... audio engineering software is very advanced now. Plus manual editing / replacing can do miracles too.

Think about how many years they've been able to remove vocals from songs to create bootleg instrumentals? The software can isolate sounds, not just frequencies, and remove it. Manual editing can polish over any artifacts left over from the automated software.

Music is mathematical, literally. It's just notes, it's trivial to isolate and duplicate the notes. Somebody that is pitch perfect can do it, you don't even need a machine.

Absolutely, watch any gootuber explain how they do their job. AVGN is a good one because he mixes acting and video games.

Right. But recreating an instrumental of a song by using similar sounding instruments + same notes is different and will sound so compared to striping vocals.

Got it.
