The poor bastards, just can't catch a break. And at a time when they need a good biblical heat wave and violent Tropical Hurricane season.
Now in the past when we were experiencing record drought all over the tropics, they were saying that the heat and the Saharan dust was what was creating the active Tropical storms. And it was that very system, that made them get so powerful so fast. Well now this Summer, they are hyping every regional record heat spells, as a global oppressive heat wave.
Our local news keeps saying that the disturbance on the Caribbean and between Africa, is supposed to develop Tropical systems over the next few days. Only to have to come back a few days later with hat in hand, and say that there aren't any Tropical storms, because of the Saharan dust. But in reality those systems aren't developing because the climate is not as hot as they are saying. On one hand they say the dust is preventing the mid Atlantic storms from forming, then on the other hand, they claim that same dust is creating a heatwave. Yet we're getting more dust than Texas and the mid west where the heatwave has been. South Florida has been quite comfortable, and we've been getting sporadic rain in the last month or so. Those Mid Atlantic storm systems aren't turning Cyclone, because the heat isn't there. They are getting plenty of rain, as well.
