FREEWAY PLANE CRASH

Some unreal dashcam footage of a small plane crash on the 91 freeway in Corona in Southern California

Two onboard, both miraculously okay according to reports: https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/small-plane-crash-lands-91-freeway-corona/

It would have gone better, but he was avoiding a ticket from going into the commuter lane.

Could have been worse if the plane wasn't vaxxed.

I read that one car was damaged, but nobody hurt.

I'm conflicted, did this pilot try to minimize risk to lives or did he try to save his life at the expense of other lives?

I used to hang glide. I know the rule there is that if you have to crash land, you kill yourself before you kill others. It's fuck you, you chose this sport, asshole. Admittedly there's little risk but if it's hit a tree or hit a crowd, you go for the tree.

And yes, I do know how to land in a tree, relatively safely.

You are clearly in need of some postmodern revisionism.

I'd rather risk hitting cars in an engine out situation. Sounded like he was close to the airport but couldn't turn back, which you shouldn't if you don't have the altitude. Another reason to not live in populated areas. Looked urban, not sure where or what he could have glided into and 100% lived without killing someone else. I'd say overall it was the right decision.

Until you/we see an NTSB and FAA report we really don't know. If he was under 1k elevation there wasn't much time. Gliders don't have the weight or fuel either. So kind of apples to sharks caparison. If he just took off and had a decent amount of fuel, his glide time was likely low with an engine out scenario.
