My daughter lost her keys and wallet recently. This included house and car keys, drivers license, etc. Under normal circumstances we would have had to re-key her ignition, change the house locks, and possibly spend a night worrying about a break-in. But since the info on her identification, car insurance all pointed to addresses that were NOT our home, we didn't have to do any of that.

This is also a good example of why you shouldn't carry everything with you all the time. She lost her Sentri card, which she had on her despite having no plans to cross the border. If you don't need it, don't take it. If it's for driving, leave it in your car.

I kid you not, Kaiser just tried to get me to sign away my HIPPA rights. They couldn't require it, of course, but the fact that they even asked is sucker punch Fascisto-KommieKunt.

HIPPA rights

What rights? All HIPPA did is drive a wedge between concerned family members, and frail ailing family members that can't speak for themselves. As a spouse you can't even get information from the Doctor or Hospital, but every pharmaceutical company in the world knows what's ailing her, and will bombard you with mailer adverts for the next 6 months.

According to records reviewed by The AP, the company relies on advertising identification numbers, which Fog officials say are culled from popular cellphone apps such as Waze, Starbucks and hundreds of others that target ads based on a person’s movements and interests, according to police emails. That information is then sold to companies like Fog.

Another reason to never install any app, ever.

The same way it did for all of us growing up.
I despise texting, won't use any personal devices for work, and want my life to be focused on where I am, and who I'm with. There's nothing a cellphone can offer that I want.

I wonder how many license plate scanners are active around here in silicon valley. Bridge toll booths, obviously. But also any fastrack lane to catch the cheaters. Of course if you have fastrack then you're just begging to be tracked. I assume police cars are fitted with automatic readers. Then there's the whole cell phone thing.

Pretty soon someone will suggest requiring all cars to have GPS "for fair taxing of road use" ... oh wait, that's already been proposed!

Soon after cars with 5G integration in few years, privacy should be a joke.

I've got a phone that I add $25 to once a year on a program that doesn't exist anymore. As long as I do it before the anniversary date, it adds 250 minutes. I used about seven minutes last year calling someone telling them I was on the way and where I was. I was being charged 16 cents a minute but when the person at the phone place realized how little I used it he said we're only going to charge you five cents a minute and the minutes I had left exploded to 5,000. I keep it turned off all the time and the answering and call waiting functions are disabled. The first time I had them disable the the call waiting function, it took the girl over 30 minutes to get it disabled because she'd never done it before. One time the answering function turned itself back on and it took another 30 minutes to get it turned off again. I only take the phone with me when I go out of town.

Yep.

HIPPA provides weakass "protections", like making people stand 6 feet away from the RX Counter, but in turn, makes it harder to sue Health Providers for losing medical records, revealing them to unauthorized parties, etc. if they comply with the bare minimums of HIPPA.

It's more of a cover for Providers than about the Patients.

Just to add on to the above, unless you are a cash only patient, that data was already being farmed.

"A significant event during the 'Leaksmas' in the Dark Web involved the release of a large dataset from Movistar, a leading telecommunications provider in Peru. This dataset contained over 22 million records, including customers' phone numbers and DNI (Documento Nacional de Identidad) numbers. The DNI, being the sole identity card recognized by the Peruvian Government for all civil, commercial, administrative, and judicial activities, makes its exposure on the Dark Web a serious threat, potentially leading to widespread identity theft and fraud."

I think everyone on here is against digital ID's, but only the new ones. Most of you are fine with tying your personal info to your car registration, cellphone, ISP, giving out your home address, and always give your real name. And in pretty much every single case where you do that now days, it's put in a computer, to digitally identify you.

This isn't new, it's just more centralized. Stop feeding their system.

I've mentioned Vanilla gift cards before, they no longer work for most purchases, instore or online. This seems have have been immediate once the new year started as I was no longer able to pay a trash bill I had previously paid with these cards. We tried several instore purchases, and an online site I had also been able to purchase from before, no longer working. Haven't had any problem with the bills, except for having to switch trash providers.

There is no announcement anywhere about this, just some threads on reddit. I'm certain this is related to the CBDC push for this year, as well as cracking down on anonymous transactions. Privacy is getting harder to maintain, a trend that will end in slavery, or revolution.
18   RC2006   2024 Feb 11, 9:05am

Pay bills with cash or cashiers check, only thing I've seen rejected payment was when guy mailed his bill in with a ounce of gold bullion and wrote the spot price on it.
19   fdhfoiehfeoi   2024 Feb 12, 8:16am

I had a trash service that wouldn't take cash. And a cashiers check requires your identity. They did say they take money order, which seems like it can be done anonymously, but I haven't actually done that yet.

Vaccine status reporting at the Doctor's is a self-disclosure. You are telling him what your vaccine status is, and he is recoding the ICD-10 code, without any 'proof' required. Maybe you got your shots at the pharmacy. What I wonder, and I am going into see my Doc in April for the first visit in 2 years, is whether to lie. Would it somehow be more prudent to have them think you are 'fully vaccinated for Covid'?

I've never been asked about my vaccine status. I had a fake card to get into events. Even the ones that required them didn't even check. We're talking minimum wage workers. You think they give a shit? Same with airport workers with mask wearing. No cared that I didn't.

During the bad times (March 2020) of covid we did our regular annual check ups for our sons. I never wore a mask, but would to a doctors office. We get in the exam room and I'm not joking, she says take that shit off in front of my kid. I'm like THANK YOU!!!! FUCK YES!!! Love our pediatrician. Not covid, but we did vaccinate for the proven ones. Similar to Nutt, it's a more homeopathic type place. Kids have gotten colds, but not "sick" in years where we'd have to take them out of school.

I wish we could take my nephew there with his asthma and allergies. We're not guardians though, so he's not on our insurance. Might look into out of pocket prices to at least get a visit. I'm not a fan of his government funded healthcare from his mom. And this is why I go off on tangents. I now have a project to look into. He takes pills daily and I have no fucking clue what it is and it doesn't seem to help. My sons pediatrician I think could help him better. His current doctor seems like he rapes women. He's a creep. More tangent, most medical people are druggies. I know a few... Free access to pills.

I believe they have a code if they ask and you refuse to answer as well. I'm not sure there's a good answer if your doctor asks and records it. Only thing I could say is find a doctor who cares about health, not spying on you.

I used to think those existed, not after the Scamdemic. My youngest has never had a single shot. She is healthier than the first two who both got majority of the shot schedule. The only thing she ever has is fevers and colds.

Be careful about the medical industry and your nephew. It's not hard to get a target on your back, and if you have younger kids, the leverage they can exercise over you through the courts and CPS is extreme. Make sure you trust the people you are working with.

That's it for my kids. Though they did get non-covid vaccines that have been around for decades. Hell they haven't had a fever in 5 years and just a running nose and feeling a little tired. Your basic cold.

NuttBoxer says

Frankly the only people in the medical field I'll trust are ER responders. Dealt with it recently. Not pleasant, but they took care of me. I was seizing and was out for 15 minutes driving a work vehicle and put it in the ditch. Neurologist was a cunt (man) and pissed me off on my follow up. Most don't know what they're doing. Got though medical school and are just coasting. I diagnosed my own gall stones when I was 20. History major. That's how dumb these fucks are. And I suck at history now. Same shit happens to doctors. You lose your knowledge in any field.
28   fdhfoiehfeoi   2024 Feb 27, 10:22am

There's continuing education requirements, but if you only learn pills and surgery, how to treat the body as isolated pieces rather than a whole, it's useless. We are on the logical downhill of nearly a 100 years of psuedo-science and medical quackery. The existing systems are the failures they were always created to be. But decentralization has already stepped in as individuals have started taking back personal care for their health, and real doctors have started filling the gap and re-learning preventative technique's that have worked for thousands of years.

This applies to a lot of things in our society today. The old guard is exposed for the garbage it is, and the longer people cling to it, the more miserable they will become. Whether it be healthcare, jobs, building real wealthy, government, etc. Adapt or die...

In agreement with healthcare. Government is a different animal. People bitch and don't do a thing. It takes the small steps from the ground up. How the heck do you think the Demorats got where they are? Ground up. Not top down. Any think Biden is good? Nope. You have to change opinions locally. Then state wide. THEN nationally.

WookieMan says

They do, but the system tells them they are doing something when they waste their time voting in large elections that are rigged. Or do you think Biden really is the most popular President in US history? And Arizona's governor officiating her own election guaranteed objectivity? Or that water mains routinely break in Georgia? Or that you really do care about Ukraine and Palestine, and that's why government sends them all that money? Or that majority of us want to pay taxes? Shall I continue..?

I prefer bitching AND doing something. I resist tyranny, teach my family self-reliance and critical thought, send my children to private schools, buy guns and ammo. And people I know, and in my community see me living my life this way. That's the ground up change we need, the change already in progress.

Don't worry, you won't miss anything about this government once it's gone...
