Soon Putin will require countries to leave the EU before allowing them access to life saving energy from the Russian Federation.

Who in their right mind is going to want to rely on Russia for energy after all this?

I know Putin is pretty much out of options, but all All Russia is doing is helping the US in the long run.

If bad russian man retires after all this, europe may forgive russia to some extent if the new leader is sufficiently pro western. Promoting trans children would probably get them back in good graces right away.

You just fail at understanding. People NEED energy and they won’t be getting anywhere near enough from inconsistent windmills and solar panels. It’s literally life and death for civilization. We can drill more here. Most European countries have very little oil or gas production capacity. And they either weren’t allowed to do Nuclear or unwisely shut it down to satisfy greenies.

A country like Bulgaria has few options for this most necessary commodity. Abandoned by their supposed allies (who just blew up the pipeline that could have gotten them back to normal), of course they’re going to look to Russia! This is OBVIOUS!

Honestly, compared to the perfidy, lying, warmongering, sabotage, and bullying of our Dear Leaders in the USA, Russia looks like the lesser of two evils.

Europe does have coal, but the Fourth Reich shut down as much of it's own coal as possible and demanded that the rest of Europe shut down their coal ASAP and put pressure on Poland and Hungary to shut down their coal mines.

Germany makes moronic geopolitical decisions and has since Bismarck. From Losing WW1 by actively pissing off the US, to creating the first successful Communist Government by putting Lenin on a train filled with money, to Hitler who ended up enlarging Bolshevism to cover all Eastern Europe.

I get all that.

My point (hope) is that this shock will finally shake some of the retardation out of Europe so they will ignore the Green-Commies and be more open to nuclear energy and LNG from the US and not put all their eggs in Russia's basket.

Similar to how the US woke up after the Arab oil embargoes in the 70's and we drilled the shit out of Alaska and the Gulf which was one of the main drivers that got inflation down early in Reagan's first term.

Putin told them he has plenty of petroleum lube when they decide to bend over and grab their ankles.

As I noted elsewhere, China is increasing NG imports from Russia and in some cases exporting it as LNG.
I was shocked to read that LNG from Russia is not embargoed by the EU. Who knew?
LONDON, Oct 5 (Reuters) - French energy giant TotalEnergies (TTEF.PA) will continue to ship liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia as long as there are no European sanctions on the fuel, the company's Chief Executive Patrick Pouyanne said on Wednesday, reiterating a previously stated position.
"We will continue to ship LNG from Russia as long as there is no sanctions, or push, from Europe on the gas, because we contribute to the security of supply for Europe. If there are sanctions we will stop immediately." Pouyanne told the Energy Intelligence Forum in London.
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Europe in particular has become a prime market for the seaborne fuel, where massive amounts are being bought to help replace Russian pipeline gas that used to make up almost 40% of the continent's imports.

Pouyanne stressed that the energy giant is not investing in new projects in Russia.
TotalEnergies has a contract with Russia's Yamal LNG for 4 million tonnes per annum that runs until 2032.
France imported 5 billion cubic meters of Russian LNG in the first eight months of 2022, surpassing Japan to become the largest importer of Russian LNG in February and March, a recent report by Columbia University's Center for Global Energy Policy said.
Pouyanne said the best way for Europe to secure gas supply is to do it like Japan, namely "commit to long term contracts with big volumes".

Yep.

Europe wouldn't be in this situation if they didn't get into bed with a viper. We need to reform our nation, our nation is run by psychopaths. Europeans may very well freeze, literally, this year. They need to take control of their vicious governments, and we have to do the same.

The "oil shortage" was actually an oil embargo, against ISRAEL and their allies. Most people don't know that. If we didn't ally ourselves inexplicably to Israel, the whole thing would have been avoided.

I would love to see the US as non-interventionist in my lifetime. All their intervention just fucks things up. I can't see a single instance where US foreign intervention HELPED this nation, in 51 years.

Ukraine has shitloads of gas which may be extracted by fracking. I wonder if this is main reason why Russians attacked

Bulgaria doesn't have an alternative source for natural gas yet. That's the real problem.
However Bulgaria does have something like 80 Ukrainian tanks in it's repair facilities at the moment.

Bulgaria Sent 4,200 Tons of Weapons to Ukraine - Secretly via Poland

And that's probably a lot considering that the Bulgarian army is probably pretty small.

I burned off a BBQ pit propane tank before moving from CA. The entire bottom of the tank iced up. Can you imagine those huge LNG tanks!

Yes. Or more like Russia doesn't want Ukraine to have it's own gas and/or oil. Because why invade if there is no oil?

The distance from molesting cis children to promoting trans ones is not that big, so they'll manage just fine.

Why would it ice up? The LNG tanks being transferred to other tanks would be done at pressure. It’s the drop in pressure that causes the heat differential that causes temperature to drop.

Russia does not want competition with its own hydrocarbon exports, so this would make perfect sense. Recall how Russia was financing Greenpiece and other assorted idiots to protest against fracking in Europe and against nuclear power. Makes perfect business sense.

see map I posted above. They have a lot of nat gas which can be fracked, but Russian aggression put a stop t that.

Did you fly? Why burn it off? Outside of air travel that makes no sense.
