I know people with property down there. The media is for sure overhyping it. Was there damage? For sure. It's 2022 though. Most homeowners if they have a brain can fix the basic damage that happened without spending thousands on Storm Trooper contractors.

Maintaining a house is pretty basic stuff. I can do or figure out how to do any house repair project and do it well. Besides the barrier island sections on the Gulf, the damage is not as extreme as it is made out to be. Generally roof damage. Media goes out and finds the neighborhood with 1950's homes that haven't been updated for hurricane protection. Why? Destruction gets more clicks.

It really was a minor hurricane. I know of at least 5 families that stayed. Posted on social media. It was a big nothing burger in the grand scheme of "big" hurricanes. You don't live in FL without planning for hurricanes.

Going to guess you have a plan to deal with the insurance debacle that will make itself known in Florida sooner rather than later when more Insurers pull out and those that stay pass on unaffordable rate increases to those who do not get cancelled.
