Yeah I've been that way since 2019 at least. That's why I welcomed getting laid off from the Woke Enterprise, and am getting back into Trade work mostly Electrical. As flooring(my original trade as a youngster before the Computer Code bug bit me) is too brutal for someone over 50.

Getting old.

I have definitely scaled back on my politics consumption. I’m more convinced now than ever before that it’s a big shell game for the rubes while the real decisions are made by people who’ve never been elected to anything and we may never know their names.
My other theory is that a rogue AI has “escaped” and has been carrying out various missions around the world. A thing like the Plandemic and the vax promotion campaign was so incredibly coordinated that it would have taken a sky scraper full of paper pushers to do it. This shit was GLOBAL, and touched every state and country and province around the world. We even got poor fucking Africans to mask and lockdown for a virus which posed them little to no risk. Hundreds of thousands of kids starved to death in lockdown in some poor as fuck nations. It was a complete disaster, but a very coordinated one.
That would take a tremendous number of complicit people, or one AI. Then each job in the Plandemic could be compartmentalized so each worker only knew what they were doing and not anything close to the whole picture. Which would keep them firmly on Team Vax and not recoiling in horror at the destruction they were helping to unleash in the human race.

I'm not demoralized, I just don't have the energy for more bad shit. Only want to hear about victories.

I am slightly optimistic.
Trump beat the media, RINOS, and got shit done while exposing the hypocrisy of the tech assholes.
They reacted and stole an election; but others are fighting against the assholes.
DeSantis, Kari Lake, Trump, even Musk are all fighting back.
It's depressing but the fight will go on.
I'm able to distract myself from politics a little by being in Baja for a while.

Things improved for me when I started to use a CPAP after being diagnosed and treated for severe obstructive sleep apnea. Instead of waking episodes that were in the mid to high 50s per hour I am down to 4 to 6.

If you are older, it could be a hormone issue. Hormone's can decrease with age. Be careful on treatment though, as the wrong kind can make things so much worse.

If you're just talking about all the bad news, I spent a lot of time being angry and bitter after '08. You get through it eventually. Work towards solution that you can implement in your own life. I would think so, but I'm still able to provide quick answers and solutions when I'm asked to help solve a problem.
I'm just not inspired to write new code or take on new projects. Mostly I believe because of the uncertainty that the platform, OS or technology will even still be around by time the project is in completion. And also my audience is not a smart phone user. I like designing and creating applications for the desktop with task minded people in mind, that needs a whole suit and slew of commands and options in contextual menus. Software has become so dumbed down, that the intended audience is a moron. I don't write code the lesser common denominator of a group. I never have and never will. It has always been a hill I was willing to die on in meetings on software and requirements gathering.
Everything someone would ask me to degrade the design of the software to accommodate their fear a retard might click this button or misuse the app somehow. I tell them then hire people who can follow instructions. The minute you start writing in the Fred exceptions, Fred's dumber relatives come out of the woodwork, all needing their own alteration done to the project. By time you entertain them all, you have a clunky piece of shit application that takes ten times longer than it should because it was made for slow morons.

Definitely getting old on the physical work side though that I'll fess up. Look at your most cluttered room in your house, with the most furniture, with the most connected components. I used to clear a room out like that on every carpet job I went on. I could have that room stripped down to bare floor with everything out, and the bare floor showing in 20 minutes. It takes me a full weekend to pull everything out of my office give it a good cleaning and put it all back together. I wonder what a beast I was back then.
