say what you want, but this is a western idea. soviet union didn’t kill elderly or sick. same goes for China.
Canadians received some much needed good news two days ago, when the New York Post ran a story headlined, “Canada halts controversial assisted suicide program for mentally ill due to lack of doctors willing to participate.”
Canada shocked the world last year when its parliament passed an expansion of its already-liberal and Orwellian assisted suicide law (euphemistically called “MAiD”), extending government-sponsored killing to people with “grievous and irremediable” mental health problems like depression.
Depressed people was the original reason most folks opposed assisted suicide. For some reason, there’s a thought that people who are down in the dumps might be more and unfairly susceptible to government marketing schemes. But Trudeau’s government now agrees with depressed people: there’s no use in going on.
Maybe the whole Canadian government is depressed. There’s a program for that now.
Anyway, the newly-expanded program was supposed to take effect this year on March 17th, but apparently the Canadian government ran into a depressing snag: too few doctors — specifically, too few psychiatrists — were signing up for the financially-lucrative program.
The launch has been indefinitely postponed. They pulled the plug on it. Canadians, you just got a gift: some more time to get the government-sponsored death train off the tracks. So get busy. And stay happy! If they notice you are getting too depressed about their death maids, you never know what could happen next. It’s a vicious circle.
Carr: How many deaths have you been involved with?
Wiebe: Over 400.
Carr: That sounds like a lot. Is that what you do now?
Wiebe: No I still run a contraception and abortion clinic in addition to my MAID work.
Wiebe has killed more than 400 people in her capacity as a doctor WITHOUT factoring in the untold number of babies she has killed in the womb. And she's a MAID doctor in Canada, meaning the government pays her to off its citizens.

“The reason people in Canada who are given MAiD seem peaceful is because they’re given a paralytic first so they’re completely paralyzed, then this drug is administered as one of the four and they start drowning to death.” ...
In February 2021, Zivot refuted the Canadian government’s claim that Midazolam, a drug used in MAiD, provided “relief from anxiety” and “comfort to the patient.”
Instead, he testified to the Canadian Senate that “muscle relaxants when used in MAiD will produce death by suffocation.”
Canadians Begin Hiring ‘Guardian Angels’ to Protect Hospital Patients from Euthanasia

The Canadian government’s plan to soon begin euthanizing citizens suffering from mental illness is facing a growing uprising from the public, conservative lawmakers, and concerned doctors.
The major backlash is swelling amid growing outrage over how vulnerable citizens, including veterans, are being railroaded into cheap “assisted suicide” instead of more expensive care.
A Conservative MP’s bill to stop Canada’s next planned expansion of assisted suicide is now rapidly gaining momentum, with support from the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC).
During a press conference in Ottawa, the EPC warned that Canada’s euthanasia program, officially called “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAiD), has already gone far beyond its original intent.
Campaigners are arguing that it must not be expanded to people suffering from mental illness.
An alarming testimony before Canada’s House of Commons has blown open grave allegations that the Liberal government is ramping up pressure to euthanize military veterans under the nation’s rapidly expanding “assisted suicide” regime.
The explosive allegations were revealed in a parliamentary testimony from Kelsi Sheren, a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) veteran.
Sheren told MPs during a hearing before the Canadian Veterans Affairs Committee that she has firsthand evidence showing the practice is far more widespread than officials admit.
She told the nation’s top lawmakers that she has evidence that multiple veterans have been pressured into being euthanized under the government’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program.
Sheren testified that “over 20 veterans have confirmed being offered MAiD” instead of more expensive treatments.
“I have the proof, and I have proof of more,” she told lawmakers.
The claims follow recent reports that Canada’s socialized healthcare system is now saving $136 million a year by euthanizing patients instead of treating them.
Under current law, adults can apply for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) even if they are not dying, so long as they have a chronic illness, a disability, or they are experiencing “suffering.”
But organizations such as Dying with Dignity Canada are lobbying for a seismic expansion by opening MAiD to children who are determined to be so-called “mature minors.”
Advocates argue that children who can “demonstrate full decision-making capacity” should be eligible for euthanasia.
Their proposal includes parental consent for those 15 and younger, but astonishingly, they claim the government should be allowed to euthanize 16- and 17-year-olds without their parents’ involvement.
Canada’s own lawmakers appear sympathetic.
In February 2023, the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying made a stunning declaration:
“Eligibility for MAiD should not be denied on the basis of age alone.”
D’Souza, a family physician and pain specialist, warned that the government’s push is directly influencing patient decisions.
“If a physician is suggesting euthanasia as an option or a treatment option for their pain or their suffering, then that is a very serious thing,” D’Souza said.
“As a patient is more likely to take this option given that a health professional has suggested it.
“I think it does severe harm to the doctor-patient relationship when physicians are now allowed and even suggesting euthanasia as a means to end their suffering.”
His warning centers around Health Canada’s 2023 “Model Practice Standard for Medical Assistance in Dying.”
The guidelines mandate doctors and nurses to pressure patients into “choosing” euthanasia while discussing care, effectively redefining suicide as medicine.
The guideline states practitioners “must take reasonable steps to ensure persons are informed of the full range of treatment options,” explicitly including MAiD.
However, in many cases, patients are being denied access to treatments, leaving them with no other option than to “choose” euthanasia.
A doctor approved Les Landry's application for medical assistance in dying, despite him saying poverty is a major factor in the decision to end his own life
Landry, 65, awaits verdict of second doctor who visited his home on Wednesday
Landry says if the second approval isn't given, he will 'shop' for another doctor willing to sign it off - something that's legal under Canada's euthanasia laws
He said benefit cuts mean 'sooner or later I just won't be able to afford to live'
Shocking case lays bare the relaxed approach to euthanasia in Canada, where experts say 'choosing to die is more accessible' than support for disabled people
