Media is full of crap... whiners if their side loses.
Just another form of election "denial"... which in this case the media is "fine" pushing out stories delegitimizing the real winner.
VanZee was constantly called a Nazi, ambushed at speeches, etc....
The Danville mayor weighed in and wrote a letter against Van Zee prior to the election as well - just to pile on.
The mayor's candidate still lost.

The left doesn't like it when they don't get their way.
And, they hate it when candidates mention hot button topics - with Van Zee's opponent denying that CRT even exists in a debate.
I gave up on the EB Times years ago and the Mercury as well.

In reality, though, there were three candidates and Van Zee likely won because of a split vote. But hard to say for sure...
