And rumors this is just the first wave, and they're doing it in slices to avoid too much bad press from the do nothing PR/HR/Admin types that are mostly the ones being let go.

Google employees who survived the company’s recent purge of 12,000 of their now-former colleagues grilled executives during a tense all-hands meeting on Monday — anxiously demanding assurances that their jobs aren’t next on the chopping block.

One Google employee based in the UK told management that “psychological safety is paramount” after parent company Alphabet Inc. shed around 6% of its full-time workforce.

The employee was outraged that among those let go by Google were high performers and people on immigration visas.

“How are we supposed to ever feel safe again?” the employee wondered. His comments were reported by Insider.

The workers at the tech giant appeared to have trouble processing the news.

“The layoffs seem random,” one employee wrote in a question that was submitted to higher-ups through Google’s internal messaging system Dory.

Just think of yourselves as "cancelled."

"Oh no, the cyber-espionage company I work for figured out I don't bring much value to them! How could the techno-surveillance industry figure me out so quickly?!"

Kind of pitiful. Losing a job is tough, good luck to them.

Are you kidding?

Fuck them. They have betrayed the very Constitution. I hope they starve to death. These people are fucking traitors.

Great attitude. Spit in the face of people that realize their "allies" were never there for them in the first place. That'll certainly convince people that only the people in charge are psychopaths.

Look, I don't work for psychopaths, they did. Fuck them.

The WHOLE POINT of the Internet was to make a worldwide communication system to allow people to realize that there IS propaganda, and we are lied into every fucking war.

Google, and the people that helped create it, perverted this goal. They have actively worked to suppress information, to promote lies and propaganda, and to misinform the public.

How many people are dead because they weren't able to communicate about this worthless fucking "vaccine" that at best doesn't do anything, and at worst sickens you or can even kill you. How many people have these mother fuckers killed?

Ukraine is at war with Russia because the US overthrew Ukraine. How many people are dead because of this? How many people died because Genie Energy wanted to make an energy deal with Israel to steal oil from the Golan Heights? How many people are in SLAVERY today because the US blew up Libya?

It's everybody's duty to be an informed citizen, and Google now actively works against that goal. Fuck them all. We didn't build the Internet just to make pornography more accessible and provide shields for pedophile groups like Yoel Roth did. That was not the purpose. It's to educate and to end the fucking madness of our insane criminal government, how much effort did this fucking traitors put into preventing this?

We will win in the end, but they've delayed that for more than a decade. They lie to us, they censor us, they fuck with us. I know precisely what Google does. They use robots to derail conversation, they make use of the intelligence agencies, they cheat their customers, they are predators and I'm supposed to have any sympathy for the garbage that worked for them? They've directly led to the murder and enslavement of millions. Fuck them.

But I think Musk is on to something. And I think other CEOs in tech and social media are seeing the same thing: The way he gutted Twitter, and Twitter is still up and running, confirms to them that he has cut out huge layers of fat that Twitter had put on after years of overhiring, overleasing, and overpaying. He’s teaching everyone a massive lesson.

In my experience with tech companies, this is very true. Most of them could get by just fine with about 10% of their staff. Patrick.net has a staff of 1 unpaid worker, lol. If I get swamped with traffic, I bet I could still handle it all myself to a very large number of users. plentyoffish.com (a dating site) has millions of users iirc and is run by just one guy.

Right, but the managers are usually more useless than the laziest/dumbest/wokest worker, so I'd go with 20% of the engineering staff is needed and only 10% of mgmt. Pretty sure Musk manages a lot himself and otherwise relies only on a few hand-selected managers he knows and trusts.

Right. When you and your massive patriotic army of always correct and infinitely infallible people line up to execute all your ideological enemies when they've fallen from power, let me know.

Don't strawman me. I hate it when people do that. Stop being dishonest and arguing by composing lies. You're embarrassing yourself.

What does that have to do with pointing out they were/are working for an enemy that is trying to suppress society? Society is supposed to rally around those who help/helped them?
