Spoke with my sister who lives in western Michigan yesterday, told her to be careful. This is completely fucked:

Toxic train wreck.

The “experts” decided that chemicals leaking from the train cars might explode, and so they opened the spigots to let the chems out faster. Then they thought “oh hey this could poison the entire river system in multiple states” so they set it on fire so as to only poison one county in fly-over country. And make no mistake, it’s poisoned. The chemicals released from the burning are hydrochloride and worse that constitute poison gas banned by the Geneva Convention. It’s highly toxic stuff and very carcinogenic. This is another disaster cooked up by the experts who were left after the great Covid vax purge of 2021.

Unlike radiation that shit is visible and you can smell it. So people could (and should) just GTFO. In case of a nuclear incident w/o a dosimeter you have no idea where it's safe and where it isn't.

I don't know that's anyone has smelled it yet. There's multiple reports of animals dying, but not of people smelling anything. Might not be as far fetched as you imagine, especially when comparing how government is handling it.

I honestly don't think they would have done any better if this happened in 2018.

I'm breaking a rule here which is "crazy hair" == "crazy person", but I'm willing to violate my own standards at times. The rule isn't 100% true, but it's about 90% true.

I'm tempted to contact people in the area, but I judge it to be invasive and they're dealing with too much right now, and if I'm not going to help, I should just stay the hell out of the way. Maybe in a few months I'll contact a few residents and businesses to ask for comments.

Why would they cover this up? Does Buffet own the train, or is some other Dem donor liable?
9   Bd6r   2023 Feb 13, 2:33pm

This is vinyl chloride. Most of chemistry stuff they try to scare you with is nonsense, but this thing is genuinely toxic

Vinyl chloride exposure is associated with an increased risk of a rare form of liver cancer (hepatic angiosarcoma), as well as primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), brain and lung cancers, lymphoma, and leukemia. https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/substances/vinyl-chloride

And on top of that, when it burns/decomposes, it releases dioxins.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dioxins_and_dioxin-like_compounds

High doses. Toxicity of dioxins at high doses has been well documented after accidents, deliberate poisonings, food contamination episodes, and high industrial exposures.[1][25] Three women in Vienna, Austria, were poisoned with large doses of TCDD in 1998. The highest concentration of TCDD in fat tissue was 144,000 pg/g, the highest ever reported in human beings. The main feature was chloracne, a serious skin disease. The victim survived, and other symptoms were modest after initial gastrointestinal symptoms and amenorrhea.[26] Another acute incident was the deliberate poisoning of Victor Yushchenko, then presidential candidate of Ukraine, in 2004. TCDD concentration in fat was 108,000 pg/g. Also in this case the most prominent symptom was chloracne after initial stomach pain indicating hepatitis and pancreatitis.[27] These episodes show that a human being is not as sensitive as the most sensitive animals, since the doses must have been up to 25 μg/kg.

Basically, parts of Ohio will now be as healthy as some superfund sites....

Because it might be a major disaster.

They always cover up everything. It took a YEAR before the government in Flint Michigan admitted that the water was highly contaminated, and during this time, government offices were getting bottled water delivered.

The government, NEVER, admits error, and when they do, they always downplay it. Right now, these mother fuckers are trying to force kids to get vaccinations for "covid" when they have a statistically 0% chance of dying from the disease, and a statistically NON 0% chance of dying from the vaccine.

They
always
lie

They will always, without fail, claim to be incompetent at the end, YEARS later, and say "nobody could have known". They always attribute to stupidity, what is really malice. These fuckers are just plain evil. Ordinary people don't know what a sociopath is like, and our government is run by sociopaths.

Can you name something that your government (either local, state, or national) has done that you approve of in the last decade, without having to think about it? Now, can you think of something that your government has done you DISAPPROVE of in the last decade? I can sit here and bitch and moan about what my state, local, and national government has done for hours, and I have. I can't list a single fucking thing any of them have done though, that I thing was an improvement. If know my governments are evil, and if you thought about it a bit, you would realize this too. Nobody really thinks about it, and I know everybody is a bit on autopilot.

Each of the fourteen chemical cars carried 25,000 to 33,000 gallons of vinyl chloride. That’s close to a half million gallons, or millions and millions of pounds of the chemical. From Encyclopedia Brittanica:

Vinyl chloride, also called chloroethylene, [is] a colourless, flammable, toxic gas belonging to the family of organohalogen compounds and used principally in making polyvinyl chloride, or PVC, a widely used plastic with numerous applications… Vinyl chloride can cause liver damage, and it is classified as a known human carcinogen.
A spill of carcinogens would be remarkably bad timing if a population had somehow injured their cancer-fighting immune responses. Just spitballing.

OSHA considers vinyl chloride dangerous at 1 part per million (PPM). Here is the NJ Department of Health emergency responder reference for vinyl chloride spills, which says burning the chemical can cause an explosion, among other alarming facts.

Hydrochloric acid rain is dropping in Ohio due to a train explosion because the cars didn't have the right safety measures in place because the company said Ufck you and y'all worried about banning Blk history month and flags.

May be, just may be, the possibility of this type of crap is steadily increasing because gubbermint bureaucrats and employees in large companies are now hired according to their genetics and sexual preferences, and not their qualifications.

Diversity hires are RARELY placed in positions of importance.

The reason this shit is happening is mostly because the United States hasn't spent money on infrastructure in 50 years, but spends trillions of dollars on war even if they have to fucking make up the war. Oh wait, opposing war in "unAmerican" and "makes me a coward".

Slava Ukraini!

There's complete regulatory capture. Nobody will go to jail for this, they might be fined possibly. The Sackler Family PURPOSELY addicted as many Americans as they could to opiates to increase profits. They aren't in jail.

I wonder if Sam Bankman Fried will go to jail. Hmmmmm.

Are you questioning his qualifications? He's GAY GAY GAY.

That is the most important possible qualification for a position of great responsibility (aside perhaps from being black and/or female as well, like Karine Jean-Pierre).

If people die due to his incompetence, well, the important thing is that we had a GAY GAY GAY Secretary of Transportation. Nothing else could possibly be as important as that.

(Actual Democrat policy)
22   WookieMan   2023 Feb 13, 7:51pm

My wife would be a better transportation director or whatever his title is. He had no business getting the role and he's shown his "ass" so to speak so far. Unfortunately I think he likes it. She gets paid more than he does, so that's a plus.

Sure, government spending on whatever will make that whatever much better. There will be little if any graft, no preferred Eskimo lesbian contractors, no kickbacks to Bidet Junior owned companies, etc. And of course engineers who design stuff are most definitely not hired according to their gender and color of skin.

WE NEED ANOTHER INFRASTRUCTURE BILL! AND EDUCATION BILL!!! THIS WILL PREVENT THE NEXT CATASTROPHE!!!

Mmmm, the USSR denied it initially, but at least they evacuated Pripyat by lying to the population. They left everything behind, including their pets because it was just for a day or two, no big deal is what they were told. I wonder how many pets died by being shut into an apartment, dying of thirst? That has to be one of the worst deaths possible.

The USSR did some pretty horrific things. We have worse propaganda than they did, but our government isn't the killer of its population that the USSR was.

While the Secretary of Transportation Pete B. talked today about racist infrastructure projects, the train derailment in Ohio is creating an environmental disaster. That site needs to be identifed by the EPA as a superfund site.

Pete Buttigieg And Chernobyl in Ohio by Sam Faddis

I guess if you are going to be the worst President in American history you want a Transportation Secretary that is equally bad. Pete Buttigieg, the man who ran for President on a solid record of mediocrity and being gay, certainly fits that bill. Ask the people of East Palestine, Ohio.

Last Friday a train derailed in East Palestine, a small town near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. Fifty cars went off the tracks. Ten of those carried various types of hazardous chemicals. Five of those cars were carrying liquid vinyl chloride. That comes out to 1,000,000 pounds of this dangerous toxic substance.

Where is Buttigieg, our Secretary of Transportation? Busy with other matters. In public announcements and comments recently, he has talked about the dangers posed by an excess of white people working in construction. He has also had time to talk about a book called “Song of Achilles” a gay rewrite of the Iliad. He hasn’t said a word about East Palestine, Ohio.

The area surrounding the burn is already feeling the impact of the release of the immense amount of acid in question. Fish are dying. Farm animals are dying. Contamination of the Ohio River has now been reported as far as West Virginia. The Ohio River feeds into the Mississippi.

"My video camera footage shows my chickens were perfectly fine before they started this burn, and as soon as they started the burn, my chickens slowed down and they died, said Amanda Breshears of North Lima. "If it can do this to chickens in one night, imagine what it is going to do to us in 20 years."

I am saying it is a huge deal, worse than any other chemical spill in last 30 or so years that I am aware of. It will be living on land contaminated by dioxins which are really persistent and difficult to clean up. Oil is eaten up by bacteria so it does not persist and it is not that toxic. A lot of other stuff decomposes by time. This crap made when vinyl chloride burns does not. All I can wish to people in affected areas is to run away as fast as possible.

I just wanted to point out this is true. When I was a little kid 45 years ago, I remember when it was claimed that plastic cups would not decompose for 1,000 years or so. I remember feeling bad about that, thinking the world would fill up with garbage.

It was bullshit. A plastic bottle left outside in 1980 might still exist as a bottle cap, and a few flecks of plastic, the rest has been completely decomposed.

All those styrofoam containers for Big Macs, they may exist in landfills, but if they were dumped as littler along a highway, the are entirely returned to the environment, their atoms in the soil or in living animals and plants. Still, probably better we moved to paper/cardboard.

I grew up in an area that was so desperately remote, I have run across PERSONAL dumps, where, 50 years prior, my grandparent's parents, discarded old buckets, machines, etc. You can still see them, sort of of. Parts of very rusted bicycles exist, I found a car door recently with the window intact, part of a bucket. Landfills preserve garbage, but much smaller dumping grounds do not. When I was a kid, there was a sort of local famous site where a car crash had happened, where the car was left behind to rust and rot. That car is entirely gone today, 40 years later. I don't think I could even find the location today where it used to be.

Nature is the great recycler.
