Yesterday, Fox News ran a story headlined, “John Fetterman’s Office Has Doctored Several of His Quotes to Make Him Sound More Coherent, Review Finds.” Fox discovered that Fetterman’s staffers have been “cleaning up” the Senator’s comments and giving the cleaned-up versions to reporters as original quotes. For example, they changed this rambling jumbled-up nonsense…
I’m really excited by it, because here in Pennsylvania one of my friends really [inaudible] it, Nikil Saval, he was one of the literally — quite literally — as hard left as a politician I’m aware of — you know — certainly in the Senate. Um, he really helped shepherd that. And he got linked up with the Republicans, and he actually created the first kind of a program like this in the nation, you know. And one of my colleague — Mr. Vance — talked about well if there’s a leak in the ceiling, what if you don’t have the money to fix that? What can happen to that, kinda things? I come from a community down in Braddock, Pennsylvania, where there’s a lot of — your home can go bad quickly if you were having those kinds — so I’m a big — you know — I’m incredibly, I think I’m excited that could take from Pennsylvania and go federal.
… into this concise position statement:
I come from a community here, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, where your home can go bad really quickly. And I’m really excited that we can take something like that, which is happening in Pennsylvania, and take it federal.
I get it, if you squint you can make out what Fetterman’s trying to say in his original statement. But it’s not okay for backroom staffer to retcon his quotes and pretend like Fetterman said something normal.
The Senate is a joke, and the United States is not a serious country. Not at this point, not with Biden, Kamala, Fetterman, and Feinstein.

John Fetterman redefined Casual Friday on a Thursday morning.
It’s truly unbecoming for someone to show up like that to any job, let alone a job that only 100 people are elected to do.
There’s just no excuse for it.

A post about the Senate’s new non-dress code won the Internet yesterday. The votes are in, and the winner in the category of Best Caption of 2023:
“Fetterman looks like he's about to tell you that he found half a cat in the air conditioner he was working on yesterday.”
Runner-up: “I don’t have that part in my truck. I’ll need to go to Lowes to grab one, probably take me an hour or so.”
For what it’s worth, Fetterman is a trust fund baby with an MBA, no student debt, and lives in a big house his parents gave him as a wedding present. His costume — whatever he’s trying to be — is totally fake.
Of course, many folks are wondering: is Fetterman even … Fetterman? How many layers deep does the fakeness go?

We have a colleague in the Senate that's actually done much more sinister and serious kinds of things. Senator Menendez. He needs to go. And if you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow somebody like Menendez to remain in the Senate...? Menendez is really a Senator for Egypt, not New Jersey. I really think he needs to go.
John Fetterman is not at the DNC and I gotta say I'm loving his character arc
Senator John Fetterman, in an apparent effort to fulfill The Babylon Bee prophecy, has decided to skip the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
The Hamas kids and their public representatives were apparently too much for Mr. Fetterman. Though he's playing coy here and just going with the "I want to spend time with my kids" approach, which is just lovely.
‘I've got three young kids, and they're out of school,' the Pennsylvania senator said of his absence this week in Chicago, waving off the suggestion that he might not be welcome there. ‘That's four days I can spend with my children.'
John, we know you're just out here making Bee jokes come true on purpose.
Democrat Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has declared that he would vote “from an open mind and an informed opinion” on President Donald Trump’s cabinet picks. ...
“I believe that it’s appropriate and the responsibility of a U.S. Senator to have a conversation with President-elect Trump’s nominees,” Fetterman wrote in his post on X.
“That’s why I met with Elise Stefanik and Pete Hegseth, just wrapped with Tulsi Gabbard, and look forward to my meetings with others soon.
“My votes will come from an open mind and an informed opinion after having a conversation with them.
“That’s not controversial, it’s my job,” Fetterman wrote.
