Elena is extraordinarily gullible. My fifth grade niece knew that it 'came from a lab' the minute she found out there was a level 4 viral lab employing someone called 'The Bat Lady' working on Fauci funded gain-of-function corona virus projects IN WUHAN by sometime in late 2020.

I don't characterize a theory as a "conspiracy theory", unless you consider the CCP engaging in their normal lying subterfuge as a "conspiracy".
How can you be surprised when a "novel coronavirus" emanates from Wuhan China, where there is a CCP laboratory engaged in working with "novel coronaviruses".
"Scientists have determined" is funny; which scientists, working for whom?
Also, as a retired "scientist" myself science is study and it's often changing when new facts emerge and techniques for measurment are invented.
If the "conspiracy theory" was so crazy, why was it believed by scientists exchanging emails with guys like Fauci?
So, either you believe
1. an infected bat was transported from hundreds of miles to Wuhan to be made into soup, and its virus had mysteriously mutated to a more virulent form than ever seen before.
2. the virus from the distant bats which was studied and given "gain of function" (more virulent) somehow was leaked from the lab.

There have also been many theories. Theories cannot be proven, conspiracies can. For example the theory of evolution. Or the conspiracy that formed out current central bank(see Griffin).
The evidence supporting the creation of this mutated spike protein has been well established almost from the beginning. Therefore it is a conspiracy. The idea that it's naturally occurring, despite the overwhelming evidence is neither a conspiracy, nor a theory, it's a delusion. And this is the only place left for the scamdemic apologists at this point. They must live in the realm of fantasy, because the real world has beat their ego to shit for the past year.

Add this near the top of the mountains of media scandals. On a vital question of this generation - how did COVID originate? - they claimed a certainty they lacked, and banished a theory that was fully viable, because they prioritized their partisan allegiances above reporting.

I never understood how a leak, whether intentional or accidental, coming from a highly sophisticated science lab was the racist option.
A conspiracy theory that has been floating around for a couple of years is that the virus that caused the original Covid-19 pandemic was manufactured in a Chinese biotechnology laboratory in Wuhan and escaped into the air.
Australia took this story to heart. The Australian Federal government took the official position supporting this theory. China reacted with economic retaliation against Australia. China allowed scientific professionals from around the world to tour the laboratory in question. They claimed that the tour exonerated them. Some scientists agreed with them. Other scientists claimed that they were not disclosing all.
Yesterday afternoon, WGN News out of Chicago and Al Jazeera reported that the US Department of Energy had taken the official position on the record that the Covid-19 virus was manufactured in a Chinese laboratory in Wuhan. For those of you curious, here is the link:
