I wonder how they can be so wrong time and time again.

I LOATHE television, and I'm beginning to feel the same way about films. They warp your sense of reality.

They did it when you were a kid. Horror movies would scare you when younger. I fucking laugh at them now. Kids are still afraid of the basement because it's dark and all the movies had bad shit happen in the basement.

I've been on one or two movie/tv shoots in Chicago when I was in RE. Once you witness how it goes down, understand editing, you realize how stupid it is. I honestly think Hollywood is designed to brainwash people.

We had two offers for an HGTV shoot and turned them down. They control everything on those housing shows. As dumb as my boss was and as much of a salesman he was, even he turned down the publicity from doing one of those shows. They wanted him to make shit up. Even though our relationship ended rough, I still have to give him credit for turning it down. Was the right move.

This is how I regard most of modern day film and television.

People are shocked and dumbfounded that there's so many "woke" films and television shows - that's the point of them, to influence social viewpoints. The good thing is that since there's the Internet now, people are free to find other sources of what passes for entertainment.

I think television was always propaganda and so were films, but it wasn't so obvious or maybe because we have the Internet, there's an allowance for divergence from it. Younger generations really don't watch television. It's streaming and Internet. If I watch an episode of Star Trek the original series, I can CLEARLY see a lot of propaganda in many of the episodes. Klingons were the Russians, The Federation were the Americans - the Federation stood for truth, justice, liberty, fairness, honesty - the "American way" (supposedly). A Private Little War was actually about Vietnam, it was an allegory for the conflict between the Russians and the United States, where we armed "primitives" for example. Let That Be Your Last Battlefield was obviously about racism. Balance of Terror was a straight out anti-war episode.

They were kind of all over the place with the propaganda, but it was definitely there, and I don't object to ALL propaganda, just propaganda that is not true.

That's the rub. What is true?

They killed Socrates (who was probably a degenerate anyway) for training the youth of Athens in what was later to be called the "Socratic Method," whereby you keep asking the other person questions until he exposes the logical contradictions underlying his (because Athenian women were confined to the home and couldn't sit on the good furniture, let alone talk in public) entire though process. For this, Socrates was convicted of corrupting the youth of Athens because they were asking uncomfortable questions of the city leaders.

These days, they just cancel, deplatform, and un-bank you (best case) or lock you up indefinitely in the DC Gulag for insurrection.

Socrates probably buggered the wrong guy's kid.

Yes, blatantly so. The Vulcans were the Japanese. Romulans were the Chinese. Star Trek even mimicked Chernobyl in "Undiscovered Country" when a Klingon power plant on a Klingon moon blew up and doomed the Klingon Empire.

The truth, unlike a lie, has no contractions in it. It's fine to say "X is true" - that's propaganda but as soon as you do that, there has to be resources to find out WHY X is true.

I have no problem with the Socratic Method, however, I know why people are frustrated with it, because you can just pointlessly ask questions forever. Everybody should be able to back up their reasoning to come to a conclusion. If you and I have different beliefs, we must have different facts (or assumed facts), or errors in our logic. Likely we both have error in logic, and different facts - some of which might be incorrect and not real facts at all.

That's why it's important to talk.

Yeah, I know, this is because it's working. People are learning how to think and reason again. I have said it multiple times, censorship is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength.

20 years ago, I could say ANYTHING and nobody cared, I was just some nut making "crazy claims" on the Internet but EVERY NOW AND THEN, somebody would listen to me, or (legitimately) challenge me. Sometimes I found out I was wrong, and when I did, I learned to be grateful for being corrected and over time, I dropped my feelings of guilt of spreading what turned out to be false. I used to legitimately feed badly when I realized I had been advocating a position that was wrong, for YEARS only to have a person explain usually over a period of days the fault in my logic.

Today, I can say things that SEEM outlandish to people who just don't know anything about a subject, and still get the occasional "take your meds" response, but I can generally have a conversation that isn't hostile. I can't do this on Youtube, Facebook, or Twitter, but I can on substack, I can MOSTLY do it here, placed like bitchute, rumble, etc. People are learning how to talk instead of argue, and that's why rules on certain sites are enforced VERY unfairly (that's to frustrate and piss people off), and why there's so many people on some sites (like bitchute) who all they do is try to anger people. I'm fully convinced it's mostly another government psy-op. There are legitimately people who never will argue in good faith, all they is try to create arguments - that's what GIYUS and Hasbera did a lot - they are paid propagandists for Israel. They often pose as fake Nazis.

I never thought for a second about the Vulcan/Romulan Japanese/Chinese connection, but you're probably right. China was closed off from the West in the late 1960s, and the war between the Federation and Romulans was "100 years ago" - that would be about when the Opium Wars ended - about 1860.

I think you're right.

THAT one I didn't miss. Chernobyl did play a key part in bringing down the USSR, and some people even think the US helped sabotage it.

Too bad the US is nothing like the Federation... We started fucking over Russia as soon as the USSR collapsed. The main reason for animosity with Putin and the West, is Putin ended a lot of that.

Ferengi are Jews

Yes, I recall thinking that when I heard a description of the Ferengi.
