Like an employer's searching up our patnet accounts? I don't think the internet even knows patnet exists, which is why I enjoy the liberty of saying all kinds of things that would get me perma-banned from my industry.

But if you don't tell people who you are, you're pretty damn anonymous on patrick.net already.

I guess obscurity provides another level of anonymity, but I'd honestly rather have many more people using the site and was thinking of implementing an "invite" feature where you can type in an email address and send someone an invitation to join the site and reply to a given comment or thread. The invitee would have only to click on a link to become logged in and reply to that comment or thread.

Should I do that? Would anyone here actually invite anyone? The invitee name would get a message saying something like "Cistits has invited you to reply to this thread on patrick.net..."

It could be Cis is being doxxed and wants to remove his footprints here, could have nothing to do with the usual suspects. I think he mentioned losing a job once already by standing on principle.

I also was fired from Trulia for running this site. I don't know whether it was my real estate posts or my generally politically incorrect opinions, but whatever.

It's fine, for example, for Twitter to label something as "hate speech" or whatever, but you should be able to say "well, I want to see what you call hate speech". Notice NOBODY does this.

I do this!

For every comment marked "personal" you can do a "view source" in the browser and find the offending comment with a bit of work. The extra work is intended, but the comment is available.

We're laundering money to military contractors, killing Ukrainians and Russians. Is this not obvious as fuck?

Yes, I think this is correct.

The goal is:

1. funnel taxpayer money to favored groups like military contractors and the Biden Crime Family
2. get Ukrainians and Russians to kill each other to weaken them both

This is the objective. Love or hate it. As long as Western Europe stays out of it, NATO, this is a win for the entire region. Let them drink and shoot artillery at each other. I have Ukrainian born family members. Let them kill each other. They could sell the land overnight and stop this. The Russians already have Crimea. This is an ethnic conflict.

Russia is the aggressor. Someone can say otherwise and can bring up 2014. They gave up nukes under the assumption they'd be protected and Russia didn't want them joining NATO. Russia has made the problem. I don't care about either if I'm being honest. Have fun lobbing Soviet era munitions and N. Korean munitions at each other. This is like watching 2 year olds fight in a sand box.

Ukraine has nukes. That's all BS they got rid of them. This would be over already if they didn't. Moscow would be a mushroom cloud in minutes and all their other land is shit. Russia is in a they're fucked zone. Get close to Poland and see what happens....

Norman Finkelstein is said to be "anti-Semitic". He's Jewish, his parents were in slave labor camps. That man isn't allowed to speak.

I actually own and read his book, The Holocaust Industry:

He's hated because he's telling the truth about that.

I'm tempted to make a meme of Jesus being taken down from the cross with BRB, but I'd go to hell for that.

LOL no, God has a sense of humor. I imagine Jesus would laugh at the meme. He would, “get it”. Fact of the matter is, He did say he was coming back, and since time is measured against the backdrop of eternity, He clearly will be back soon just like he said he would be.

Here is an encouraging thought for believers: God made the world in 6 days. And it is pretty amazing! Well, he has had 2000 years to get heaven ready for us, so words clearly cannot describe how amazing that must be!

And while you think on how Amazing heaven must be. Remember we have a highway to hell and just a stairway to heaven. That tells us a lot about the expected traffic to each destination.

Maranatha!

Finklestein is an old fashioned Socialist One-Worlder

"No, I do not support a two-state solution. I don't support states. I remain an old-fashioned communist. I see no value whatsoever in states. If the borders were to disappear between every state in the world, I think it would be a much happier place

I miss the old Debate Formats and Free Speech, because on one hand the Government-Media-Corporate complex is crushing speech, and on the other, people who are easily refuted gain cred because they're never challenged by an informed counter-opinion.

This is an ethnic conflict.

I don’t think it is that simple. The best analogy we Americans might have is this. (We took over Hawaii, put military bases, nuclear reactors the power the islands - that part is not true for Hawaii but it is true for Ukraine. We sent our people to settle the region. And then Hawaii decides to be come a sovereign nation again, only now the Chinese start running biological weapons labs, buying politicians and extremist military powers start shelling the remaining loyalist Americans who live in Hawaii.

That is kinda what happened with Ukraine, only worse than that because the mainland USA has plenty of warm water ports, but without Crimea Russia did not.

So this is so much more complex than just an ethnic conflict.

Not that I am taking sides, but for Russia they view Ukraine as not only their historical and heavily invested territory and their people but also essential to their greatness as nation and aspirations of influence in the world.

Well, I don't agree with him on that. But I think he's correct about the Holocaust Industry.

I will try to improve your analogy:

After Hawaii is taken over and improved, the United States breaks up, each state, including Hawaii, becomes independent. California forms the Californian Federation which some of the other states join. The leader of the Californians considers the break-up of the United States to be the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century. He sends his troops to invade Hawaii.

Then have a good AI reference to police people's posting content to their preferences.

It would be pretty hard to actively filter out quotes, because I just let people type whatever they want, mostly.

The idea is you're censored by a post parser, based on their 1A choice. Triggered people, can't see people who can post more risque content, and the post filter wont let them post censored content. Make Woke people live by their own rules.
76   Tenpoundbass   2023 Apr 13, 9:32pm

By putting all of the grunt work in policing the poster's content based on their own posting policy they chose.
Then the content they can see, can be a simple filter on their preference, seeing other's who have already been sanitized for the appropriate audience
You don't have to do any further processing to keep everyone happy. The posts are sanitized on submission. Those who don't have filters, wont need processing, the tiers in the middle just need "Threat checkers" or "Potty Mouth" filter. The last tier the "PC Filter" that's the tricky one that will take a good AI algorithm. I wonder if ChatGPT can be trained to recognize a piece of text is being political or religious, without being biased. I'm sure it can recognize MAGA politics. But how well would it pick up subtle petty partisan politics regardless of side?
