Cool off

No point insulting people, unless they insult you first.

We are discussing ideas so better to argue with idea related content.

Anyway a question for cisTits, why do you want all of your posts deleted too? Isn't it valuable to leave them for posterity?

SCROLL the fuck up and FUCKING READ.

Jesus fucking Christ.

Believe it or not I did actually read the entire thread before asking. It doesn't matter anyway. It's just an internet forum and some posts. We all can't read so nothing of value was lost. I hope you feel better when you get your account deleted until the dopamine cycle craving kicks in again.
27   Ceffer   2023 Apr 13, 10:54am

@Patrick: punish CisTits severely by keeping his account alive.

Another one who can't fucking read!

Read the thread post for chrissake.

So your butthurt because you can't insult others? Did I read that right?
29   Patrick   2023 Apr 13, 11:23am

OK, the point of this thread was to show that it wasn't me. Clearly cisTits wanted his account deleted, which is now is.

As for content, his comments are also gone, but not threads created more than two weeks ago. I have a policy about that on the "about" page. Older threads remain in the bucket of "anonymous", that is, with no author in the database.

The tits thread, which cisTits did not create but inherited from a dormant user, still exists but does not have an author.

cisTits wanted permission to violate the first rule of the site, not deliberately insulting the other users. I decided that also means not deliberately insulting the other users as a group, as in "patnet Nazi Ukey fluffers", as he put it. Clearly that's a deliberate insult of other patrick.net users in particular, unlike saying, for example, "libtards", which isn't intended to deliberately insult other users of the site.

He was very angry about that for some reason. I'm looking forward to a site with fewer personal insults, and more discussion of actual topics.

Does this "insulting groups" rule only apply when those groups are represented here?

If you're actively trying to insult other users of this site, that's forbidden because it ends productive conversation.

If you're actively trying to insult some group but not particular members of the site, that's discouraged, but not forbidden. Banning all group insults seems wrong to me, because it leads to real censorship.

FarmersWon is a problem because he's always deliberately insulting Hindus, but I don't think he's trying to insult other members of patrick.net in particular. I don't like his comments and think they are counterproductive to his cause, but I'm hesitant to delete them because he's trying to make some legitimate point about Sikhs being oppressed, just doing it very badly.

Same logic as being nailed for not using someone's correct pronouns.

No, not the same.

You can use someone's correct pronouns because that is not necessarily a deliberate insult, but rather a statement of fact. The statement of facts and opinions about facts must be protected.

But "patnet Nazi Ukey fluffer" is obviously intended to be a deliberate insult of other site users.

Right, it's about how we disagree.

There used to be the term "loyal opposition" used among Congressmen to indicate that however much they disagreed, they were all ultimately on the same American team.
35   clambo   2023 Apr 13, 11:59am

Is someone asking Patrick to make an exception to the rules for him?

When I read "fluffer" I was tempted to reply "Putin asslicker" but I resisted temptation.

Resisting temptation has saved me a lot of expense over the years, so I'm used to it.

Maybe insulting is a cry for help; perhaps his wife is fat and annoying.

This is your site so you should take decision on how to manage it. I would have been ok with him and I had many tiffs with him.

But I will not agree with your comment that @FarmersWon has shown you proof of sikhs "being" oppressed. Sikhs were oppressed before. Who wasn't.

It's not even an insult. I don't think anyone here really cares outside of the tax payer dollars. Both countries are going to tear each other apart. There's no debate to be had. Cis had an issue with people attacking Russia's position in this conflict and it consumed him. No one gives a fuck, especially if you don't explain why one would should care. We don't. Russian and Ukrainians can die every day. I give zero shits.

I want my kids to be healthy and not get drafted into a mindless war over a bunch of dip ships over a 30 mile swath of land. Retardation on steroids.

I am pretty passionate about some things. As soon as someone I am debating gets personal with, "conspiracy theorist" or "you're stupid" I know the debate is over.

46   richwicks   2023 Apr 13, 1:55pm

I have no problem with personal insults.

It's a question of how people handle it. You want to call me anything? Go ahead, I'll just use it to point out that you aren't attacking my reasoning, and this is because I believe that whoever is attacking me at least suspects I'm correct, and is outraged by the fact I'm right.

The reality in our current society is people who are correct are often libeled and slandered. COMPANIES are. Bitchute is filled with right wing extremists after all, so is GAB. That's what the "news" says. People have to get over these dumb insults. It's a method of control, either either conform with my demands, or I'll attack you personally. Well, go ahead, attack me personally.

@Patrick - maybe you should allow people to opt in for personal insults. The thing though is if they opt in, it takes a MONTH to opt out.

Didn't find that to be the truth at all. Not by a long shot. Especially recent comments. I didn't care if he shat on people occasionally, but it was every comment and on topics he knew nothing about.

You have to come to the table with a viable comment at some point. I don't care about tit pics. I can just get that at home. The real deal. It was constantly "you're wrong" posts/comments with no data. Love or hate him that was the reality of his posts.

I think the withdrawal phase has him back in a month. Some men are too weak to be put in their spot instead of admitting they're wrong.

I can understand outrage at people being coerced into supporting another fucking war. Ukraine can't win unless, NATO gets directly involved, and that's WWIII. That's the end of everything. People who support this war are, unknowingly I think, risking world destruction.

I feel badly for the Ukrainians, but there was a solution offered. Perhaps Russia was lying about their demands, but their demands were pretty reasonable. There was no reason for Ukraine not to agree to end the civil war and remain neutral, but the US was involved, and for some insane reason, they want to attack Russia - I think primarily to control energy distribution to Europe and to have a justification for the MIC. They don't care of 100,000 or more Ukrainians will die as a result. It could be a MILLION.

I am so fucking disgusted with my government and I'm tired of the useful idiots. Our government lies about EVERY FUCKING WAR, and they are still supporting the US government's position on this fucking war. When will you learn? People who "support Ukraine", are they stupid, or are the intelligence, or are the colluding? Probably a combination of all 3.

This war can be ended, if the US gets the fuck out. The US is prolonging this war, and it's a war that have almost no chance of winning, it's just going to lead to mass death. Like ever fucking war the US government is involved with. We've been in 20 goddamned years of war, and what has it done for this nation? We have traitors running our State Department, or idiots, or both.

We lost less than Ukey's and Russia over a year compared to 20 years in the ME. YOU want this to go on so we don't fight future wars. I think you know this. Demographics exist. Long term, this war not continuing is the worst outcome for your or me.

It's take 2-3 decades for Russia/USSR to even get enough troops to do anything because they were decimate in WWII. They're digging their own grave currently. No one gives an actual shit about Ukraine. The war is over, they're just going to kill each other over the next 12-36 months. Call me out when I'm wrong. I won't be.

We're laundering money to military contractors, killing Ukrainians and Russians. Is this not obvious as fuck?

It could just be a button you can click.

Here's something, I don't think anything should be deleted either, unless somebody REALLY fucked up in a post. I don't mind moderation at all, but you should be able to see what people said.

It's fine, for example, for Twitter to label something as "hate speech" or whatever, but you should be able to say "well, I want to see what you call hate speech". Notice NOBODY does this.

There is definitely stuff I do NOT want to see, or EVER see. By default, maybe I should be automatically opted out of that, but I should be able to opt in. People who are labelled "anti-Semitic" for example, I don't find to be. Norman Finkelstein is said to be "anti-Semitic". He's Jewish, his parents were in slave labor camps. That man isn't allowed to speak.

Love the drama.
54   richwicks   2023 Apr 13, 2:34pm

@Patrick - here's an idea.

I don't mind being put on a blacklist. There's 7 people that (currently) have put me on ignore, and I have no idea why, but I suspect it's my position on Ukraine. It might be my position on the Israeli/Palestine conflict.

Here's an idea - when people are placed on ignore, force them to explain why.

I cannot correct my thinking without having somebody explain "this is why I can't stand to listen to you anymore".

I have placed FarmersWon on ignore for a week or two, but I always remove this - it's not because I violently disagree with him, it's just what he advocates is so far our of my experience, what he talks about just doesn't matter to me. I'm too ignorant about the situation, and even if I was very educated about the situation, I have no stake in the fight. I can't be involved with his fight. First of all, I'm too ignorant, second of all, I have no stake. I can't be MORALLY involved, I can only talk about things MY nation does. I have some limited control over that, but I don't think I have any right to intervene between two groups that I have no part of.

Wrong. The war can be ended only if the CCCP gets the fuck out and back inside their already generous borders. US is not even there in earnest even now and hasn't started its half-assed assistance until late April of 2022. The first "goodwill gesture" forced upon the Mongoloid horde of war criminals was done by Ukie force with old soviet weaponry (with some homegrown rocketry sprinkled in). If we stop the assistance now they won't stop fighting the genocidal Commie fucks, just like Afghans never stopped fighting their invaders. And Poland might jump in which is Sleepy Joe's and Scared Milly's worst nightmare, "because muh escaleyshun!". I think this is probably the only reason they are doing the bare minimum they do.

The US has spent more than the entire Russian military budget to support this war.

The only reason this war continues is because American taxpayers fund it.

Look, you don't know. Stop listening to propaganda.

I remember when a bunch of Reddit twats (or were they Facebook?) sent out a bunch of video messages about "joining the fight", who were all killed by a hypersonic missile because Russian intelligence were able to pinpoint their position based on what was seen in the camera.

It's a gross error to underestimate your enemy. Russia is a formidable enemy, and doesn't need to be an enemy at all.

Eric Holder says

They didn't stop fighting the US either, and they won, over a 20 year, brutal war.

A "Thick Skin" check box in our profile.

Or you could do a sneaky poll, by seeing just how 1A everyone is, by giving them 3 or 4 shades of Free Speech. From "Don't give a Fuck", to "Triggered easily"

Or realistically

Anything Goes
(tell me anything)

Just don't threaten me
(call me names, but don't threaten me, or discuss content that could cause problems or legal issues)

Keep It PG
(I have kids lurking no profanity, nudity, or inappropriate talk,)

Easily offended
(Best not to talk about religion or politics)

Not that you should do this, but you got me thinking now.

Then after people have updated their profiles from the default "Anything Goes". People will only see content and posts from people with top level down access. Those at the top tier can see all, the second can see third and fourth, and the third can see third and fourth and so on.
Then have a good AI reference to police people's posting content to their preferences. Those on the bottom rung, wont be able to subject folks to their one sided Political discussion. LOL because that's what the Left wants. They don't want censored speech, they just don't want those they disagree with saying anything. While they are expected to say anything they want, and still understand that it is their constitutional right. It's just not yours.
61   Tenpoundbass   2023 Apr 13, 4:36pm

I think the Keep it PG folks would probably benefit the most. Some people like engaging conversation but spicy language and graphics turn them off.
They could enjoy discussing politics and religion with their friends, without having Liberals come shit on their threads with Deviants Demons crapping on them with Gay and Retarded shit.

I blocked Google from indexing patrick.net a year or more ago:

https://patrick.net/robots.txt

User-Agent:GoogleBot
Disallow: /

I had a few reasons for that:

1. Copyright trolls look through Google images to know whom to harass with threats of lawsuits. I've already been threatened by one.
2. Patrick.net had already been deranked into oblivion for being politically incorrect, so no big loss for me.
3. The less good content on Google, the better for the whole world.

Patrick.net is indexed by all the other big search engines, but they have much less traffic than Google.

It would be pretty hard to actively filter out quotes, because I just let people type whatever they want, mostly.

But if you don't tell people who you are, you're pretty damn anonymous on patrick.net already.

I guess obscurity provides another level of anonymity, but I'd honestly rather have many more people using the site and was thinking of implementing an "invite" feature where you can type in an email address and send someone an invitation to join the site and reply to a given comment or thread. The invitee would have only to click on a link to become logged in and reply to that comment or thread.

Should I do that? Would anyone here actually invite anyone? The invitee name would get a message saying something like "Cistits has invited you to reply to this thread on patrick.net..."
