Bring evidence and info to back up what you say. You don't. So you get people that know things and you just call them fluffers and experts with no evidence on your end.

There are a million social media site any of us can join to troll or insult to our hearts content. What makes patnet different is it's a smaller community where most of us know each other, and therefore the discussions more civil, and we actually learn from one another.

If we allow the majority to constantly start flame wars with anyone who disagrees, the minority will leave, and we'll have an echo chamber. Censorship by insult. I have no interest in circle-jerking. I also miss some of the old libs who brought a perspective other than "MAGA forever!". I think if we'd been a bit more careful about not allowing insults, some of them may have stayed.

This thread is evidence you can't seem to disagree without making it personal. I don't think asking you to keep that to reddit/fakebook/twatter is too much. And I think you know I'm the one who called this out. Because as the person who disagrees with everyone, I want to keep the disagree'ers around, to make us think, and keep us honest.

In '08 I got really angry when I realized the government hated us, and actively worked to our detriment. I was bitter, and lashed out for years. But now I try to work towards solutions, and focus on truth.

Agree 70-80% of the time with 70-80% of the posters.

It's not worth getting into ad homs and insults over the 20-30% disagreement.

Particularly not in these times, when we have too many major issues to let disagreement on one Issue cause bad blood.

That being said, most people get frustrated or annoyed and might drop a dig or snark here and there. I've done so myself, esp around 1AM. Laughing it off is a good thing.

Not remotely with real estate or the Ukraine/Russia situation. That's fact. He's obviously of some Russian ethnicity. What he doesn't realize is that Americans give no shits about the conflict outside of my tax dollars going to it. And there's a high probability that zero of his tax dollars are going to it based on stats of tax payers. The odds are 50/50 if you pay federal tax dollars.

OK, the point of this thread was to show that it wasn't me. Clearly cisTits wanted his account deleted, which is now is.

As for content, his comments are also gone, but not threads created more than two weeks ago. I have a policy about that on the "about" page. Older threads remain in the bucket of "anonymous", that is, with no author in the database.

The tits thread, which cisTits did not create but inherited from a dormant user, still exists but does not have an author.

cisTits wanted permission to violate the first rule of the site, not deliberately insulting the other users. I decided that also means not deliberately insulting the other users as a group, as in "patnet Nazi Ukey fluffers", as he put it. Clearly that's a deliberate insult of other patrick.net users in particular, unlike saying, for example, "libtards", which isn't intended to deliberately insult other users of the site.

He was very angry about that for some reason. I'm looking forward to a site with fewer personal insults, and more discussion of actual topics.

If you're actively trying to insult other users of this site, that's forbidden because it ends productive conversation.

If you're actively trying to insult some group but not particular members of the site, that's discouraged, but not forbidden. Banning all group insults seems wrong to me, because it leads to real censorship.

You can use someone's correct pronouns because that is not necessarily a deliberate insult, but rather a statement of fact. The statement of facts and opinions about facts must be protected.

This is your site so you should take decision on how to manage it. I would have been ok with him and I had many tiffs with him.

But I will not agree with your comment that @FarmersWon has shown you proof of sikhs "being" oppressed. Sikhs were oppressed before. Who wasn't.

It's not even an insult. I don't think anyone here really cares outside of the tax payer dollars. Both countries are going to tear each other apart. There's no debate to be had. Didn't find that to be the truth at all. Not by a long shot. Especially recent comments. I didn't care if he shat on people occasionally, but it was every comment and on topics he knew nothing about.

I can understand outrage at people being coerced into supporting another fucking war. Ukraine can't win unless, NATO gets directly involved, and that's WWIII. That's the end of everything. People who support this war are, unknowingly I think, risking world destruction.

I feel badly for the Ukrainians, but there was a solution offered. Perhaps Russia was lying about their demands, but their demands were pretty reasonable. There was no reason for Ukraine not to agree to end the civil war and remain neutral, but the US was involved, and for some insane reason, they want to attack Russia - I think primarily to control energy distribution to Europe and to have a justification for the MIC. They don't care of 100,000 or more Ukrainians will die as a result. It could be a MILLION.

I am so fucking disgusted with my government and I'm tired of the useful idiots. Our government lies about EVERY FUCKING WAR, and they are still supporting the US government's position on this fucking war. When will you learn? People who "support Ukraine", are they stupid, or are the intelligence, or are the colluding? Probably a combination of all 3.

This war can be ended, if the US gets the fuck out. The US is prolonging this war, and it's a war that have almost no chance of winning, it's just going to lead to mass death. Like ever fucking war the US government is involved with. We've been in 20 goddamned years of war, and what has it done for this nation?
