I would encourage Patrick to permit insults. Perhaps there can be a new thread (i.e., Freedom to insult) where users can post an agreement to be insulted (and to insult).

Maybe there could be a badge or icon placed next to the user name to denote the user is allowed to insult and receive insults; the badge or icon could be a middle finger. Perhaps Patrick could charge fees for the badge.

Also the users can post again in that thread if they want to revoke the agreement.

Or perhaps an insult thread could be created, which is the only thread that allows personal insults. Its like a virtual fight club or rumble forum.

We've butted heads, but we've also agreed on shit. Maybe take the aggression down a level. I'm an angry person as witnessed by the swearing in pretty much every comment I make.

They're drunk idiots that will keep this going WWI style for 5 years and kill 1M people. Or the constant knock on real estate experts that happen to be real estate experts. I may not know your specific location, but I promise you outside of Eman I know more about real estate having been in the belly of the beast for 15 years.

Basically just tone down the aggressiveness. If you're a geopolitical expert give us your experience. If you're a real estate expert give us your experience. Otherwise don't tell people that know stuff that they're wrong with no evidence and just attacking. It's a sign of weakness.

There are a million social media site any of us can join to troll or insult to our hearts content. What makes patnet different is it's a smaller community where most of us know each other, and therefore the discussions more civil, and we actually learn from one another.

If we allow the majority to constantly start flame wars with anyone who disagrees, the minority will leave, and we'll have an echo chamber. Censorship by insult. I have no interest in circle-jerking. I also miss some of the old libs who brought a perspective other than "MAGA forever!". I think if we'd been a bit more careful about not allowing insults, some of them may have stayed.

OK, the point of this thread was to show that it wasn't me. Clearly cisTits wanted his account deleted, which is now is.

As for content, his comments are also gone, but not threads created more than two weeks ago. I have a policy about that on the "about" page. Older threads remain in the bucket of "anonymous", that is, with no author in the database.

The tits thread, which cisTits did not create but inherited from a dormant user, still exists but does not have an author.

cisTits wanted permission to violate the first rule of the site, not deliberately insulting the other users. I decided that also means not deliberately insulting the other users as a group, as in "patnet Nazi Ukey fluffers", as he put it. Clearly that's a deliberate insult of other patrick.net users in particular, unlike saying, for example, "libtards", which isn't intended to deliberately insult other users of the site.

He was very angry about that for some reason. I'm looking forward to a site with fewer personal insults, and more discussion of actual topics.

If you're actively trying to insult other users of this site, that's forbidden because it ends productive conversation.

If you're actively trying to insult some group but not particular members of the site, that's discouraged, but not forbidden. Banning all group insults seems wrong to me, because it leads to real censorship.
