Years ago, I knew a couple of guys that were very heavily into the martial arts. One was an instructor that owned his own studio, the other held a black belt with a few extra degrees. They were trying to recruit me into taking lessons, etc. One day I was invited to attend an exhibition. Practitioners would break sometimes 8 concrete blocks stacked on top of each other with their bare fists. It was so phony that I found it very amusing.

My friends explained that, although it looks impossible, it was simply accomplished by applying 'mind over matter,' a phrase that I heard them often repeat. I told them for the next exhibition, I would happily supply the concrete blocks. Of course, my offer was turned down.
