And just like that the Hague Conventions goes from "bullshit" to very important international law.

Statement by Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia at UNSC briefing on deliveries of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine and their consequences

Mme.President,

Western states insist that they do not take part in the conflict, but rather “help Ukraine defend itself”. But in reality, it is the exact opposite. The West is fighting a proxy-war on Russia in Ukraine.

Since the previous meeting of the Security Council on the topic of Western weapons deliveries to Ukraine, the flow of arms has not declined and continues to intensify. This proves that NATO is willing to escalate. Clearly, they are not interested in a peaceful settlement. Lately, the EU High Commission for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy generated another gem of a saying. It goes as follows, “I know how to end the war immediately: I stop providing military assistance to Ukraine, and Ukraine has to surrender in a few days. That's it, the war is over”. British Defense Minister Ben Wallace also felt like opening up his heart. “The UK will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine so that other Western countries are not tempted to force the Kiev authorities to make concessions in order to achieve peace”, he said.

Deliveries of ever more powerful weapons systems to Kiev, combined with data sharing and the training of Ukrainian soldiers on their territories make these states not only parties to the armed conflict with Russia under the 1907 Hague Conventions on the rights and obligations of neutral powers in naval and land warfare...

Mind you, this is an employee of a guy who has been indicted for violation of the very conventions they now hold in such a high regard and the very conventions the followers of OUR GREAT CHRISTIAN LEADER on p.net have many times dismissed as bullshit and not really a thing.

They aren't really a thing.

Enforce them. Our government just violated the Nuremberg Code - for all we fucking know, everybody that got an injection is the walking dead. We don't know.

People blather on about "international law" and "treaties". Our government doesn't care about any of that nonsense. According to the UN every people has the right to self determination. It's part of the United Nations Charter, but even the British Mandate of Palestine wasn't given that right. A majority didn't vote for partition. That was 1948. Donbass wasn't given that right, Crimea wasn't given that right.

The US will cynical cite something only when it happens to be to their advantage and ignore it otherwise. Every nation does.

In the 1920s the British transferred 2/3rd of Mandatory Palestine to the House of Husseyn as "Transjordan" without any vote of the population.

Yes, in 1948 Jordan illegally occupied Samaria and Judea and Egypt illegally occupied Gaza, the former expelled the Jewish population and handed their property to supporters with no trial or justification (the so called "Settlers") with no authority from any international body, and they were never granted control or even right of administration. However, Israel was recognized by the UN as a member state in 1948.

That being said the Hague can suck my dick because almost every Croat Ustache (usually "miraculously" found living a decade in Spain or Argentina) war criminal and Bosnian Muslim headchopper "disappeared" or was found "not guilty on a technicality" while very Serb got the maximum, just like Germany, Austria, and Italy wanted. No German, Austrian, or Italian, Saudi, Moroccan, or Algerian was convicted of breaking the UN Arms Smuggling embargo; that was only for Romanians and Bulgarians selling to the Serbian Government
