There's a Short series on Youtube that keeps popping up in my suggested videos. She starts off with "Everybody is so Creative", she critiques videos of people making videos of them abusing food. At first it may appear she is critiquing a cooking recipe video. She provides no context to the content other than commenting as they put strange ingredients in a bowl and do unspeakable things to them..
Then I finally saw a video where a woman asked ChatGTP to make her a recipes. Then it made all of those other videos make sense.
Those were all recipes people asked AI to give them. Then it dawned on me, that AI lacks the human element that can pair tastes and flavors together.
It is smart enough to know techniques and the most obscure ingredients known to the culinary world. But it can not know that blending Baloney with Creme, and cheese, then draining out the liquid in a cheese cloth, and then serving a huge dollop of it over a pineapple Danish, and topped with blueberries and lemon zest would be horrible and sound disgusting. But it's different. .

That's why people believe that AI is smart and fresh when they ask it to do other things because it's different and fresh. It may seem smart and fresh. But with these AI recipes there's a common reoccurring theme, the outrageous paring and the creativity that it would take to think of such nonsense. Is common across the board, mostly the heavy use of creme and cheese. Often adding creme at three or even four stages of the process. The ingredients call for things never used, and then call for more ingredients than stated. That's no way to run a business or create intellectual property if everyone is creating nonsense that just as ridiculous as what AI made you.

The more I see AI in practice the more I believe it is hyperbole to call AI a threat to humanity.

Though it could be used like the Oz behind the curtain, the all knowing being no one is allowed to question, and it could be curated and manipulated to output what the establishment wants it to tell the believers in AI. I don't doubt that fear at all, but as far AI itself taking over. Fat chance. It's as dumb as a rock.
