Student of the ancient mystery schools and founder of the Philosophical Research Society, he was a writer, philosopher, and later in life became a member od the Freemasons. Best known for the "Secret Teachings of All Ages" he wrote on a variety of subjects and gave many lectures.

Personally, I find his writing dense (at times it seems like word salad) but in his lectures (which can be found on YouTube or similar) do bring up several interesting points, although they tend to meander.
