But just remember, what the government does is often not representative of the wishes of the citizens.
If your neighbor was a known terrorist, who you witnessed massacring innocent people and the people in his household did nothing to stop or bring him to justice, is not the entire household liable for harboring terrorists?

Nearly every competent adult in Gaza knows who the terrorists are, and at least some of their “secret” underground tunnels, supply lines or locations, bases and/or weapons. And they do nothing to stop them. That’s because Gaza is a household of terrorists. Even those who don’t commit violence knowingly rub shoulders on a regular basis with those who do. But they themselves are innocent! And they don’t deserve to die. So I guess it is better to live under the rule of terrorists than to die in a war to eliminate terrorists.

1. The Israeli poster boy for the toxxine, Yonatan Erlichman, dropped dead of a heart attack at age 8. A distraction was needed.
2. Netanyahu was facing riots against his rule. That ended with the attack.
3. Israel needed an excuse to go in to the Gaza Strip because natural gas has been found just offshore.

A pipeline terminus in Gaza would be revolutionary for Arab-Israeli relations AND provide a shitton of prosperity AND provide alternatives to scamming the UN via UNWRA or Iranian support. This comes after Netanyahu reveals plans to relocate the Palestinian population in the US and Europe.

How were low flying paragliders traveling at only 40 mph, carrying two heavily armed terrorists, able to successfully cross the Gaza/Israeli border into Israel? The border is under constant, 24/7 surveillance by the IDF, and yet, Hamas was able to pull this off by flying in undetected? Had they been detected, they could have easily been shot down, yet they weren't. Why?
The whole thing stinks like a decaying kettle of fish.

Which is good, because the Times’s descriptions of these crimes nearly beggar belief. They go beyond rape, or gang rape, or even the execution of prisoners. So. Why? Why single out women for this special abuse?

I expect it was allowed to happen to distract everyone from other issues (like the death of 8 year old Israeli toxxine poster boy Yonatan Erlichman from a heart attack) and to provide justification for stomping on Gaza.
Not that Hamas isn't guilty. The murder of random civilians for political reasons is the very definition of terrorism. Hamas must be wiped out.
