Also Dad would tell son once or twice firmly to behave when tantruming, or even when showing bad manners at the table. If not followed you got smacked and then behaved. The result? From 2 1/2 to 3 year old on you were perfectly able to hang with family and friends in restaurants and other events, without throwing food at the servers or screaming at the top of your lungs so nobody can enjoy their time. Nowadays 10 year olds can't behave, let alone have a one minute conversation with an adult.Gen X FTW!

I got spanked at a restaurant one time for misbehaving. My dad yanked me out of the booth by my arm, took me outside, and in front of everyone gave me about three hard cracks on my rear end.
