The memes of my generation were catch phrases.
When you drop a catch phrase on a millennial they say... "That was random!"
But we mastered catch phrases going back 50 years to the present. The youth's catch phrase today is "Oh My GWAD What in the fuck is wrong with you!? Seriously!?"
Last generation to ride wild and free on bikes from 9AM to the streetlights turning on. No helmets or boo-boo prevention knee pads because single mom is too lazy and/or guilty. No snowflake treatment. No helicoptering from robotics club to therapist to wiffle ball league. Dodgeball taught you to suck up the skin grafting impacts and the best defense was to make the offender pay himself. Harder to find a torn off page from a Playboy and pay some kid's older brother $5 for it, than to go find an actual chick to feel up. Hangout at the convenience store and a talk an "old guy" in a denim jacket and bandana into buying a case of beer if he got to keep a few.
What catch phrases did we have?
We were the first generation to break out of the television / mass media matrix, and the last generation to escape all the federal mind control bullshit in primary school.
