It’s funny that the Democrats think that this is the best way to defeat Trump. All it does is make him more popular. On Twitter, the Left is cheering, as though this wasn’t an assault on our Democracy. Oh, history will not be kind.

From the Daily Caller:

Former President Donald Trump has been disqualified from the Colorado ballot for the 2024 election over the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist” ban.

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 4-3 decision Trump violated the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban” and is ineligible to be on the ballot in the state. The ruling is on hold pending an appeal to the Supreme Court until Jan. 4, CNN reported. The issue must be settled by Jan. 5, which is when the statutory deadline is to set the list of candidates for the Republican primary, according to CNN.

The state’s supreme court ruling found Colorado courts do not need an act of Congress to remove Trump from the ballot and the Jan. 6 riot amounted to an insurrection that Trump allegedly “engaged” in.

Chief Justice Brian Boatright, who dissented, argued Colorado’s election law “was not enacted to decide whether a candidate engaged in insurrection,” according to CNN.

“In the absence of an insurrection-related conviction, I would hold that a request to disqualify a candidate under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment is not a proper cause of action under Colorado’s election code.”

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung slammed the ruling as “un-American.”

It is not only un-American, it is literally the elimination of democracy for the benefit of the CIA, NSA, and the corporations which run them and benefit from their treason and subversion.

I hope to be in the front row with a big bag of popcorn when the deep state criminals are hanged for their crimes.

So the state court is a part of deepstate too?
Boy, the definition of "deepstate" seems to widen every day.

Now even Bolton is chiming in.

Bolton!

Nothing wrong with Bolton. At least he hasn't shown himself a false prophet and a stupid cunt like some other "conservative" idols of p.net.

I would not have believed this could be happening; it's insane how evil the lefty liberal democrats are.

I am not religious, but I wish a pox on all of them and eternal damnation.

I proposed direct democracy to my girlfriend once, and she was horrified at the idea of letting the hoi polloi directly vote on laws that she would be subject to.

Well, that is why the Founding Fathers set up a Republic and not a democracy.

Maybe? Why maybe?

Where do you see the word "maybe?"

Trump is crazy and his super power is making his opposition actually act even crazier. TDS at work.
But this is not unexpected - it is the playbook. And if SC does overturn, Dems just run on
"Trump's SC saved him and blocked democracy!" That gives more reason why you need to stack the court...
And so forth...can't lose campaign strategy when you also throw in the SC stance on abortion.

This certainly does show the Dem party true colors and they are surprisingly authoritarian. Too funny to see true liberals assail this ruling as a catastrophe. The liberal part of the Dem party has lost to the extreme left and still don't realize it.

CA and other Blue states I expect will follow suit...

Trump has enemies on the right and left - so sad.
There is some theory out there this was done to galvanize Trumps support so he would be the nominee "for sure" and easy for Biden to beat, expecting SC to overturn. But I don't think that really holds water - the nomination was Trump's from the beginning. I guess there is a legit feat that Trump "could" win. Who knows. I am sure the other courts will continue to keep him occupied and possibly jail him.

It would be interesting if some strong GOP player challenging Trump did something similar - like TX blocking Biden due to his non-enforcement of border laws and therefore supporting a foreign invasion, etc... The argument can be made and just as valid as the CO court. But I don't think the GOP has the guts to do similar, and usually the managerial class/courts are far more composed of lefties. The only option for a GOP candidate is to out-Trump Trump - and that is hard to do.

Did you hear about the witch hunt that occurred in a red district with a liberal school board at the meeting just a couple of weeks ago? The hour is late and the globalists are clamping down on anyone who dares dissent.

Here is the liberal behind Trump's disqualification from the primary ballot in Colorado. His name is Noah Bookbinder (
@NoahBookbinder
). Yesterday he wrote, "We just won before the Colorado Supreme Court in our challenge to keep Donald Trump off the ballot as disqualified under the 14th amendment for engaging in insurrection. A huge moment for democracy. More to come soon."

In September, he said that his group was representing dissatisfied Republicans and Independents in Colorado who wanted Trump off the ballot. Only Republicans and Independents vote in the GOP primaries in Colorado.

He wrote back in September, "BREAKING: Six Republican and unaffiliated Colorado voters, represented by
@CREWcrew
and distinguished CO attorneys, just filed a lawsuit to remove Donald Trump from the state's ballot because he is disqualified under the constitution's 14th amendment."

NOTE: He said six Republicans and unaffiliated Colorado voters are the ones who went to court. But in reality, it's the liberals behind it using six Republicans who hate Trump.

As Glen Greenwald pointed out tonight, this same group has about 14 cases against Trump in other states using the same tactics. They want to go from state to state finding liberals registered as Republicans and to go to court.

As you can see, it all seems fraudulent.

There is big difference between the liberal left and the authoritarian left. My point is that the liberal left is essentially dead. The idea that I may detest your speech but I will defend your right to say it is basically gone from the Dem party. There are nuances. I know many classical libs disturbed but they will never change party or vote differently, so they are stuck.

I'll try, but some people have their head in the sand.

Banning Trump from the ballot is unconstitutional, illegal, and immoral. If they get away with it with Trump there is nothing to stop them from further tyranny.

And the same group that filed this CO lawsuit has 14 other states going on too.

Worse case: SCOTUS actually backs them (doubtful), so any state can deny ballot access by simply saying the candidate is an insurrectionist.

Total shitshow. 30 states will ban Biden, including several swing states. 10-20 will ban Trump.

So we'll have an EC winner but only by 25% total popular vote.

Doubtful that GOP will go into the breach like the DEMs. They don't really have a lock at the state level like DEMs do - where in many states DEMs are super majority AND control the state supreme court. Sure -GOP control more state legislatures, but are weak in the courts.

Their base will demand it.

It doesn't take full control for them to do this. Sec state or AG is all they would need.

Right. But I don't see how is it beneficial for them. It's actually the opposite: gives no real electoral advantage to donkeys while giving the GOP something to rally around.

This isn't about whether he needed Colorado or not.

Unbelievable
