So I dug out my electric guitar. It’s a BC Rich NJ Series actually made in Japan. Metallic red. Bolt-on neck. Found my tuner - needs a battery. Found a few packs of strings. Found all my old guitar books. I opened my old The Original Guitar Case Chord Book. Turned to page 9 where I had circled Em7. At the bottom of the page was a burn mark from a long ago smoked joint. Found 2 picks in my DOD stereo flanger box. I could almost hear the waves crashing on to Moonlight Beach from my old studio apartment on 2nd Street in Encinitas. Yep, I am going to start playing again.

Play it again, Sam.

Good for you. I lent my rig (a strat and a fender amp) to my nephew a year or 2 ago but still have my Taylor. At one point I was playing Dee by Randy Rhoads pretty well (my version of it anyway). I was thinking just last night that I should practice it again just so I have one impressive score I can play well.

Is that a Floyd rose tremolo? I don’t think so but, I can’t tell.

I see a set of humbuckers along with switches. I guess you could do Fender and/or Gibson tones - like a pseudo jack of all trades. You might want to oil the fretboard - it's looking pretty dry. Dry fretboards means loose frets.

It does look like a non-standard tremolo - probably a knock-off of Floyd Rose.

Well, get to playing. I'm going to pick mine up this weekend and see if I can play Dee again.

Whatever you do, don't plug your amp into that wall outlet in the photograph!

Thanks. Will do.

I had a NJ made Krammer Pacer from 1985 with the hockey stick headstock and flip flop paint job. Prety much the same body design as that one.

I traded it like an idiot eons ago for a Washborn because my finger picking style clashed with the floating trem.
I regret that desicion because it had the best resonance and sustain of any guitar I have owned.

Don't oil the fret board it actually dries it out and softens the wood, leaving it prone to deep ruts gouged out under the strings between the frets. As both my Martin and rw strat can attest to.

Only use products sold specifically for fretboard conditioning. Usually parafin or silicone based.

Lol.

I need to get my drums going again. Been a while. Pissed. Not a studio setting when they weren't in storage, but good enough besides the fridge and freezer not seen in the screen grab. Lots of humming. I love it when the power goes out and you notice all the ambient noise from appliances just goes away. Blocked some stuff out to not dox myself. 1963 house, so don't judge. New one will be exponentially nicer.

I'll eventually have my recording room. Don't buy two lots with an easement between them. No utilities underneath either. This process has been a bitch to build. No wonder there's a shortage in inventory for housing. To build new custom you need sooooo much more shit. You have to be a big builder with vanilla plans for every house or townhome. Fuck that. I can't stand subdivision homes.
