Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe there has ever been a Presidential debate between the two presumptive party candidates prior to their conventions. The fact that the Democrats negotiated and agreed to the debate prior to their convention reveals further that the Biden collapse, and his subsequent replacement on the ticket was all by design. Had the disastrous debate happened after the convention, the Democrats would have had a much more difficult situation to deal with. I'm sticking with my original conclusions; this was all by design from day one, with the 'A' plan being to replace Biden with the idiot power hungry Kamala Harris.

Replacement can't get on the ballot in most states is the problem at least important ones like Wisconsin after the convention. You need signatures and the process is slow. Democrats are a party, they still have to do the work to get on ballots. They can elect anyone at the convention theoretically. States have a cut off on ballot submission. It would take individual states to change their election/ballot process to get say a Newsom on the ballot.

Then you have to factor in they still would have to campaign. It would be party suicide to drop Biden. They're better off rolling the dice with him and Kamala. If the DNC wants victory, the money should be plowed into House and Senate seat races. Biden is toast and the process to change out won't happen fast enough.

I think the party is kind of fucked. Not that I care. The executive branch is the least of their worries if Republicans take the Senate and House. We're talking 20 years of reshaping our federal government. Trump will be a lame duck and with control of the Congress a lot of shit can change. I'd just ignore Biden at this point. He's not winning.

All the states wait for the parties' national committees to tell them who to put on their ballots for POTUS and VPOTUS, post convention. Up to a point, yes. Ohio and another state (Nebraska or Georgia? Can't remember) had deadlines for this that the current Dem convention schedule blew through. Usually the legislatures of the states so effected amend their laws on the deadlines so effected. Ohio refused. But since Biden wasn't going to carry Ohio anyway, the DNC wrote it off.

So in the vast majority of the cases, whomever gets nominated at the Dem convention will be on the ballots in the states. Doesn't matter if that is Biden, Newsom, Buttigayfag, Montell's Side Piece or the Ghost of Karl Marx himself who gets nominated.

It doesn't fucking matter who won that particular state's primary for that party, too. Primaries/caucuses do not nominate national candidates. The national parties do post-primary.

So I don't know where all this bullshit you and others are posting that sez otherwise is coming from.

Because what you do describe is in line for various state deadlines for those running for Senate and Representative seats, it sounds like. Or rather, some warped version thereof some Millennial retard of a 'journalist' cooked up and that is how you all got this fucked up idea.

There are another set of deadlines after the nominees are chosen and the national committee lets the states know thereof. That is the deadlines for the national committees to change their mind for whatever reason and want to swap out their POTUS/VPOTUS candidate. These deadlines vary state by state but all are tied to hard cutoffs regarding printing orders of the ballots. Which are usually tied to hard deadlines regarding the mailing if said ballots.

So we are talking in most states late Sept at most for these types of deadlines.

So if Biden or Trump get nominated at their national conventions and one dies before a state's candidate swap out deadline, the DNC and RNC can cough up another name to put on the ballot. Ditto if a candidate drops out. Actually the States are agnostic to the reasons as to 'why' a party's national committee does this, in most cases.

But after that deadline, then the party so effected is SOL. The previous candidate name provided gets printed on the ballot. If dead, maybe not printed at all.

So practically speaking, Biden has to drop out, post-convention, no later than before one of those deadlines. Or not bother drop out at all. If the Dem Party rules requires another convention be held, that's entirely their problem. But I doubt they require that.

He's not stepping down. Delegates would have to elect someone else. It won't be Kamala either.

We're just under 4 months till final votes. A switch ain't happening. And if it does it will be disastrous. The Dems have no one nationally viable in this short of time. Kamala was one of the first ones out in the Dem primaries 2020. She was a DEI VP. Newsom would be a mistake. There's no on in the bullpen.

The R's at least have a few decent guys like Vivek, Desantis, Rubio, Cruz and a few others. Gabbard might fall into that crowd as a woman, but I'm not seeing it. Legit don't know of any Dems that aren't butt fuck crazy that could run right now. Joe is legit probably their best option for down ballot box checkers to not lose senate and house seats.
