aw man thats fucked up....i'm a fanboy....don't jinx her. She's the greatest female baller of all time.
5   FuckTheMainstreamMedia   2024 Jul 17, 10:56pm

She’s new and already putting up eye popping numbers. But how do you judge greats? Lisa Leslie and Cynthia Cooper are probably the two best, each with multiple championships and mvp’s. And don’t pay attention to any all time lists put out…assholes corrupt those with woke bullshit…they’ll make sure to put a few dykes in the top ten just for the hell of it. Understand, I have no idea as to the orientation of Leslie and Cooper, I just know they dominated the female court like no others. I’d imagine some publications have Diane Taursi or Sue Bird in the top 5 and neither belong but they probably get tossed there because they’re out and proud.

Anyway Caitlyn may very well get there and surpass everyone. But not yet.

Seem's like an opportune time to start another message board thread on whether Jordan or Lebron or Kobe or Wilt is the GOAT? (for my money it's magic).

I will say that Caitlyn (sp?) is the only female I've tuned in to watch play in the last 40 years. Also Britney Griner is a dude.
7   Tenpoundbass   2024 Jul 18, 5:47am

She's the embodiment of grace under pressure, either that or She's the ultimate example of passive aggressive behavior the world has ever seen.

The filthy stinking Commies intentionally picked over her for the Olympic team, and the players on other teams abuse her on the court, and her own teammates constantly disrespect her on and off the court. Yet she continues to deliver the premier sportsmanship example of all of the WNBA.
She even swatted a ball from hitting some sheboon that got in her face last week. Rather than letting the ball hit her in the back of the head, whilst the sheboon was going on about white people and their uppity privilege. Or something like that.

Don't do it. Y'all know I'm from Chicagoland.

As far as Caitlan Clark, that bitch can shoot from what I've seen. That said I'll only watch clips and will never go to a game or watch a full one on TV in my lifetime. So far she seems to be a massive boost to the league. Maybe they can finally start generating revenue. Not sure why the Negros are upset with her. It's only going to boost their income if she stays healthy and wins.

Caitlin who?
10   theoakman   2024 Jul 18, 6:55am

I've been following her for about 2 years now. She's the real deal. She has the ability to shoot like Steph Curry. She pushes the ball like Jason Kidd/Magic Johnson. She passes the ball like John Stockton. A lot of people focus on her shooting ability because she's got an insane range. But her real strength is her court vision and passing. It opens up everything for her whole team. She's even now developing a really nasty dribble which is preventing the defenders from being able to pressure her.

First of all, why call her a bitch? Secondly, she IS a major boost. Wherever she plays, the need bigger stadiums and they fill them with higher priced tickets. Thirdly, you aren't sure why the jig women hate her? That's laughable. Petty jealousy, real racism, and she has "the good hair". Of course the Caitlan effect will boost their income and bring attention to their league but jigs can't think that far ahead. Their first instinct is to destroy. Lastly, negroes are not upset with her, just jig women...Numerous black athletes strongly support her like steph, jordan, james, shaq, barkley, to name a few.

Larry Bird
17   komputodo   2024 Jul 18, 8:09am

The other thing nobody has mentioned is that she is non political, non woke, non gay. She doesn't criticize or blame her teammates for losses. She motivates her teammates to be better just by her actions. Totally unselfish on court with the ball. She makes her teammates look good with her assists. A record setting 19 last night. She isn't out there to pad her own stats like reese. She was drafted to the worse team in the league and already has them on a path to make the playoffs. And above all, she does this with all the haters hammering on her..I think even the black woke coaches on her team hate her.

That’s the way I go also. I was a Lakers fan and love Magic, but his defense was pretty bad while Bird was very good defensively and gets the edge. Magic was the ultimate court general on offense and basically changed how the game was played.

I don't give a shit about most athletics. ESPECIALLY female sports which are all subsidized by male sports. So this is not a stupid comment.

The stupidy lies in those who assume shit w/o any evidence to the contrary that I mean what THEY imagine I must mean for some reason.

Because I can. The entire WNBA is bitches. Sorry I'm showing my sexism towards females. I've got one that's managed to be with me for 25 years and is happy. So I'm not that big of an ass hole based on data. Comedians can call women bitches but not some random on the internet? You woke now?

It's all fixed anyway. I've stopped watching ALL sports since nationwide gambling became legal. Players of any sport (male or female) are throwing games. Toss in the refs with that.

The people involved don't have to bet themselves. They have a proxy, generally not related and throw the games. This has been going on forever. Fine, they are really good athletes, but they're good actors as well. This is entertainment at the end of the day. Think WWE wrestling. That's all professional sports. Golf is the only one you can kind of get away with it, since it's individual talent. You just shoot a shitty round after a hang over after you know the odds.

Sports are dead to me. This is coming from a two time all state athlete. It's fake with some athletic people. It's about gambling and personalities that can sell.

To me the "GOAT" discussions miss the mark. It's less "who's the best athletically/ statistically" and more "who made the game fun to watch".

1) Magic - just fun to watch, especially early on before he got injured and jaded. Made everyone around him better. Steph Curry was like this in college.
2) Bird - the least gifted athletically, but it was so fun to watch him literally fuck with the better athletes. At his prime he couldn't be shut down, by anyone.
3) MJ - I never liked him even when acknowledging that he was the best athlete at the time. Would have hated to be his team mate. Gunner. Hyper competitive. Made the game all about him. Elevated by the NBA to fill the void left by Bird/Magic. If he took 50 shots a game he went to the foul line after 40 of them. Yeah his statistics, his rings. Good basketball should be fun to watch - not emotionally draining.

Kolbe - never watched a single game of his.
Wilt - too young to see him play but based on interwebz info he has to be in every conversation.
Lebron - haven't watch too much of him, but he's never transformed the game for me. I aged out of watching NBA before he got rolling.

This is why he's in my ride or die 3. He was making crazy ass layups before Jordan did and, like I mentioned above, he was stupid smart. The other 2 are just too hard to pick. Not sure how he and Jordan would get along on the court in their primes. Bird didn't back down to anyone.

You're not getting what I'm saying. WNBA, NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, etc. are all rigged and planned. No one would bet on my event, but as an individual it wouldn't be a big deal to have an "off" day and my buddy from my band bet $1,000 on me to lose and he get a 20% cut.

This is what sports are. I don't care about popularity. It's a math problem. There are more whites with money willing to go to a WNBA game. Blacks don't have money and then the players see a white washed stadium and get jealous. Their jealousy by default is creating even more popularity from whites because CC is white. A majority of the population is white.

Either way, as a former sports fan, I'm done with it beside golf since it's not a contract sport. You either win or you're broke. You fuck up on the final round, but the purse from 1st to 2nd is usually a 6 figure difference. Tennis is actually similar too. Contract sports are trash because there's no incentive to win.

So CC is popular, who cares? Her league is fixed. Good for her, but I ain't watching a game in my lifetime. Just clips.

Lebron is not a top 10, so just take that one off. I don't care regular season stats, which is all that guy has been doing the last few years and not winning when it matters, even with other hall of famers.

MJ, Bird, Kobe would be my top three in that order for fun to watch and on the Mt Rushmore of basketball GOATS. Shaq is up there for fun to watch. I was a kid and was watching live when he broke the entire basket rig or whatever it's called.

I don't give too much credit to the mid 80's and prior players. At least when the league was smaller as far as teams and literally height of players. I watch my son who is tall just toy with smaller more athletic players at basketball. Height matters. So it's hard to put Wilt up that high, though he was a good player.

So CC is popular, who cares?

Last season, before CLARK, the Fever had the second-lowest average home attendance in the WNBA at 4,067 tickets sold per game, according to BeyondWomensSports.com. While it marked a significant improvement over Fever attendance in 2022 (1,776 per game), it was still one of the least-popular WNBA teams.
All of that changed upon Clark’s arrival. Since Clark was drafted by Indiana with the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, ticket sales for the WNBA increased by 93 percent, other WNBA teams had to start relocating their home games against the Fever to bigger arenas. Meanwhile, Indiana saw record-setting ticket sales with massive interest in attendance at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which has a seating capacity of 18,000.
I guess some people care.

This is correct. Yes it’s women. Yes even the all star women’s team couldn’t beat even junior college men’s teams.

But the games can be entertaining. While I don’t like anything shoved down my throat, CC seems to be the star the female sport needs. Nothing wrong with women having a sports showcase. Women’s tennis got its first real star in Billie Jean King in the 70’s and women’s tennis has been a thing ever since. Women’s golf as well. The players passion on the women’s soccer teams in the Olympics gave them a real stage.

CC seems to be the real deal. Her elevating the stature of women’s basketball isn’t a bad thing.
37   GNL   2024 Jul 19, 11:38am

The reason I’ve never watched any sport other than male pro sports is because I want to watch the best of the best. Never was interested in any female sports or college sports. CC is any interesting sports story to me because she’s a white athlete that has a real chance to dominate in a black dominated sport.

Never said it was a bad thing. It's not her doing it though. It's the league. They want attention because they don't generate revenue. So they turn it into a black vs white issue. People with money are white. She might end up being the GOAT of the WNBA. I don't care. She's a pawn because the league doesn't generate revenue and people lose their jobs at some point or the league crumbles.

Look at Lebron. He's only won when he jumps around teams, but the league wanted him to be great. It backfired. All this shit is fixed for gambling, marketing and sponsorships. It's money.

komputodo says

It's not about caring. I'd rather watch female volleyball 10 out of 10 times. I'm not into watching butch lesbians play basketball. They got a semi-attractive white girl that can play and are running with it. This is obvious as can be. Black people don't pay money or watch a mostly black league. Women don't watch sports for the most part. They don't play them either. Do you guys not go around and see women today? The WNBA got lucky with a Steph Curry type shooter. Steph won chips, but he won't be an all time great.

Fat women don't want to watch athletic women, so 30% of viewers are gone out the gate. 90% of men aren't watching women's basketball. This flash in the pan moment will be just that. Posted this so prove me wrong when the ratings drop off a cliff.
