Wray and the FBI tried to do the Establishment's bidding to suggest Trump's injury was not from a bullet hitting his ear. That was to try to downplay what happened to Trump and make him less of a hero and/or victim.
That did not work out well as the FBI has come out and stated publicly it was a bullet that razed Trump's ear.
