Certainly worth taking out student loans for. I expect there wil be a significant white privelege and racism theme.

Stanford University is offering a new course this fall covering the music, culture, and legacy of the Grateful Dead. The course, titled “Did It Matter? Does It Now? The Music and Culture of the Grateful Dead,” will be taught by David Gans, producer and host of The Grateful Dead Hour and co-host of SiriusXM’s Tales from the Golden Road. The course will expand on a previous offering taught by Gans called “Psychedelia and Groove: The Music and Culture of the Grateful Dead.”

The eight-week course will explore the Grateful Dead in terms of its music and social imprint through various stories and conversations with historians and scholars of the legendary group. The offering will feature a number of notable guest speakers related to the band’s immense legacy, including Blair Jackson, author of Garcia: An American Life and Grateful Dead Gear, Gary Lambert, co-host of Tales from the Golden Road, Dennis McNally, former publicist for the Grateful Dead and author of A Long Strange Trip: The Inside History of the Grateful Dead, among many others.

The course description shares “By the end of the course, students will have a well-rounded appreciation for the roots, struggles, and milestones that shaped the Grateful Dead’s trajectory, an understanding of their profound impact on music and culture, and insight into a legacy that still resonates deeply today.”

Course is not open to any students scoring less than 780 on both sections of the SAT. Bring your tambourines.

What job options for students with a BA in 'Deadology'? MKUltra recruitment?

An aviation double major could achieve similar goals.
