JERUSALEM, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Israel on Tuesday called on Russia to withdraw troops from Ukraine, warning that continuing attacks would lead to a further escalation of violence in Europe.
"Israel strongly condemns the attack on Ukraine and calls on the Russian authorities to immediately cease hostilities, withdraw their troops from Ukrainian territory and engage in a real search for peaceful ways to resolve the conflict," Israel's foreign ministry said in a statement. "It is obvious that steps taken by the Russian military and political leadership will lead to a further escalation of violence in the European region.
