Dunno. Mike Pompeo said when he was in military school and training, they taught him honor, honesty, and character, and when he went into intelligence training, they taught him the opposite aka lying, deception, chicanery, plotting and psychologic manipulation and exploitation. Like said, once CIA always CIA, and Pompeo seems to have chosen the latter.
Unless they are truly born again types, one can presume that any 'former' CIA officer is also the latter. It seems the CIA has a way of disposing of their 'born again' types with extreme prejudice.

FYI: Tulsi Gabbard was a top of class graduate from her OCS, retired as a Lt. Colonel, managed both an MP unit and a Civil Affairs unit supporting Special Ops on her TWO deployments in the MENA. Which she declined relection to volunteer for her 2nd deployment. 4-term House Member who was on the Homeland Security AND Foreign Affairs committees as well as the Asia-Pacific and Middle East subcommittee.
