Yep. Enjoyed Lavrov strenuously denying Cucker Tarlson's claims wrt US being at war with the Soviet fucks and pleading that they absolutely do not want to get into nukes, no matter what. Because what used to be the source of cheap lulz - scaring Potato, Burns, Sullivan and Milly into bouts of explosive diarrhea by mere mentioning of the "n" word - is suddenly not much fun anymore. 🤡

Coulda been an agreement between Trump and Russia already negotiated behind the scenes and contingent on the election. Somebody seriously pulled the rug out from under Assad.

Had to look up Mua'dib. Dune reference. But I don't know what it means.

Assad is dead. Assad is alive. Assad is dead. Long Live Assad. Long Die Assad.

The Kwitzach Hadderach can see all the permutations of humanity through time and space.

You never read Dune before?

Turkish TV is happy today,as is Gulf Arab TV, except Qatar's Al Jeezera, which is very nervous

A deal was almost certainly struck.

Problem with Herbert is that Paul also gets tye title Mahdi. And the two are confusing.

Herbert penned Dune in 1969. Other than Dune and its sequels, he wrote other stuff. Most of it is shit logic - he "tries" to explain things and fails miserably. He fundamentally doesn't have a logical mind, or he can't explain a logical argument to save his life.

He spins word salad explanations like Kamala to motivate his plots - cases in point: Destination:Void, The White Plague, The Green Brain, The Santaroga Barrier. At a certain point, his inability to logically extend his premises fall apart.

Herbert's short stories are better, in the sense that he isn't given enough rope to hang himself.

Stephen King is just as bad except he largely stays away from pseudo-logical arguments that he can't defend. I have yet to read a SK book that has consistent characterizations from cover to cover - he always cheats in the last 50 pages, and you feel like an idiot for wasting your time on the first X pages.

As I get older, I have to acknowledge @Richwicks' comment that it's best to not watch or read fiction, because it conditions you to accept false dialog and behavior and thus leaves your vulnerable to being deceived and falling victim to dark triad people and other various psychopaths who feign emotions without them being genuine.

Well fiction allows you to tell stories and describe interactions with people and personalities without being sued for slander or libel. Also, a lot of sci fi as it seems is remote viewing of things that just haven't synthetically occurred yet, but seem to emanate from the imagination of the collective conscious. Before psychology, literature WAS psychology.

One thing about being deceived is that it will always happen whether you like it or not. The skill is in rolling with it and engaging course correction, not NEVER being deceived. One must learn to be deceived gracefully so that one does not completely shut oneself off from the world. Camouflage and deception are part of the natural order, after all, used broadly in nature. Also, art is a rendition that can make you look at the world in different and constructive ways, even if it can broadly be called perception deception. How many stories can you tell with a comic book that you can't tell any other way?

RW had an unusually emotionally reactive position in regard to being deceived, and he was narrow minded/absolutist as a result. Best to keep an open mind and winnow/triangulate later.
