I knew a shrink in my audio club who went every year to do this in Mexico with shamans. He was also a contributor to a text on 'alternative psychiatry'. He was a Grateful Dead follower, but otherwise seemed pretty normal in conversations. He had been an ER doctor before psychiatry, and was on staff as assistant professor and lecturer at UCSF.

Maybe he just likes to hang with the Machine Elves.

Aaron Rogers has done it, and I wouldn't consider him a left coast liberal - just a mentally confused weirdo. He was right about the covid vaccine but I don't want to share a fox hole with him.
