Keep in mind, European states dominate the list of G-7. Germany, Italy, France, UK are the top richest nations in the World. EU as a whole - which includes all/most of NATO, is richer AND more populous than the USA.

Yet we pay 3/4 of the costs. Almost a TRILLION dollars each year, year after year = $37T debt.

It's also lovely that NATO are the armies they expect to operate against the Republic through DHS/FEMA and there are camps of NATO soldiers in USA where they have kicked US citizens out.

I guess that fits along the lines of the Globalist professed policies of sneering contempt that they make us pay for our own extermination while they get rich.

Yeah but they also sabotage any good relations eastwards of Europe (mainly Russia but also others) at each and every step. So they should tell Europe to use their own diplomacy and armies and then get the.fuck out of there, instead of demanding more money from Europe while warmongering like a schizo psychopath.

Sure, many European leaders are lackeys but they have also continuously been pressured by the US and UK fuckwads. New European leadership is taking place with each election and this should sort itself out once they grow back their own spine again and resume trade with Russia. Win win for both, Europe and America first.

And I actually think this is Trump's strategy anyways, to nudge them towards independence. Russia is literally next door to Europe, if you want to see what shithole a region becomes where next door neighbors don't get along, look no further than the middle east. Even North and South Korea understand this, ffs. Let's make diplomacy and trade great again, fuck these endless wars

I've been saying this recently and you're right. Russia would have a massive logistical issues ever attacking us. War across oceans are not feasible. I know D-Day and all that, but Germany was tied up on other fronts and assaults/defenses. If they were 100% Americans are coming, we'd have been slaughtered.

I don't have an issue with NATO beside the input. It's like being best friends with the bully. You got lucky. Sometimes your luck runs out and the bully punches you. I think we're nearing that fork in the road. We're the bully and Europe is the nerd that can't defend themselves from the other bullies.

Russia can occupy with some success parts of eastern Ukraine especially Donbas which is predominantly Russian-speaking thanks to "Stalan-ization"

But as it will have difficulty further west finding local support among the local population, as evidenced in Bucha (western suburbs of Kiev)

America temporarily occupies Iraq and occupied Afghanistan and had to spend a lot of money (i.e., almost like bribes to the mullahs) there to garner support

Look at how the occupation of America went during the movie Red Dawn (1980's version)

USA is superpower with dollar as world reserve currency.
To maintain it, It needs spending

This $800+B is well spent. It is not cause of huge debt but the reason why USA didn’t collapse inspite of debt

Not sure when MAGA Crowd will stop handing their ass to BRICS.

You could significantly cut the deficit and lower the debt to GDP ratio and still maintain superpower status

I saw SecDef Hegseth calling for $50 billion per year in spending cuts.

I wonder if they will focus more on strategic forces like nuclear attack submarines with nuclear-armed hypersonic missile capabilities and rely more on national guard and reserves for a "standing army"

To be fair, I think that $860B is the entire US military budget. Not everything we spend is directly relevant to NATO.

To also be fair, the amounts of spending by the other governments are their entire Defense spending, as well.

So lemme get this straight. If Iran attacks US bases, we can call for Article 5 and our NATO allies will be honor bound to assist us.

I think they will all shirk that responsibility with the possible exception of the UK.

Anyone else think differently?

I think there's a clause in there that limits it to Europe/North America.

A US base in Turkey would probably qualify. Ancirlik?
