Goats Are the Answer

The best fire prevention squad is a herd of goats

For some time my brother on Maui has kept a herd of goats, which graze the vegetation on the property around his house, thereby reducing the wildfire risk. Goats will eat just about any kind of vegetation, including spiky and noxious weeds.

They are also charming and entertaining creatures, much loved by (human) kids. ...

It’s time for Los Angeles County to bring some goat herds into the area to reduce the brushy fuel loads that are such a menace to life and property when conditions are dry and windy.

While true, most aerial shots I've seen the trees and brush aren't burned. It's just bad fire prevention in a fire prone area. There's equipment for houses. I have a basement for tornados. I won't die.

I'm sound proofing a room. Using 5/8" thick cement board with insulation and air gap and then drywall with another air gap and more insulation. Concrete on the side. I'll be having a beer in that room if an F5 hits. Be prepared. You CA cats have fires all the time. A cistern, pump and nat gas backup are maybe 15-20k? I'll have all that. My house doesn't and won't start on fire.

My hood in Tri Valley hire a local goat herder to graze out the brush in the arroyo by the hood once a year with an electrified fencing to keep them from roaming away from the job site. They do an excellent job and provide stinky entertainment for several days. They come with big dog herders and protectors, too.

The herder comes with a small mobile home for his stuff, and may sleep there too.

Eureka! I hope Trump eventually ties Newscum to the hood of one his SUVs for a parade.

Boy, military intervention into California. That is incredible on the FAFO scale. Is this a foreboding extending to election fraud and beyond? I hopium so.

Pundit Juan O Savin said the conversation between Newscum and Trump on the airport tarmac where Trump crushed Newscum's knuckles and didn't let go was high tension Trump telling Newscum he was coming after him and his 15 minute cities and he was going to get to the bottom of it.

My neighbor tried this last year. There were only 24 goats and they didn't do enough to notice a difference after 3 days. To be fair I think they were still too nervous to do serious eating after being relocated from their farm. I've seen videos though that show it can be done but that was hundreds of goats.

I learned an interesting thing though - goats are the only thing that will eliminate kudzu. Their digestion is so good that their poop leaves nothing that can regrow. Literally better than round up.

As far as I know no infrastructure exist to bring water from PNW (Columbia River, I assume) to CA. No pipeline, no canal, etc.

Only from North Central Ca. Only way would be CA Aqueduct. Even then it doesn’t go directly to LA county, I think the Terminus around LA county is Lake Castaic.

Interesting. I remember in Azores that goats were used to keep lawns trimmed. They could eat anything except bread. One of the goats died soon after someone who did not know that fed him a slice.

While goats could help, people of CA need cisterns, pumps and run sprinklers around the house and on the roof. Generator as well for the pump. You're already paying a couple million for a house likely, invest $20-30k. It's not expensive if you got that money.

If your house is soaked on the outside top to bottom and you trim back flammable brush on your land, your house won't burn. It's not that complicated. For how many smart people there are in CA, I think the dumb outnumber them 3:1. Or just don't know how to plumb a basic fire retardant system. You could literally sit in your house and watch the fire and laugh at the idiots.

And no, I don't have sympathy for those that lost homes or didn't have insurance. Be an adult. You burn every year. Figure it out at some point.
530   RWSGFY   2025 Jan 29, 10:19am

I have a first hand report from people who live in Altadena and who did save their house by not evacuating and dousing incoming embers with water from their pool. The house only suffered minor damage to a garage wall.

But happy ending it is not.

Firstly, everything inside and out is covered with a thick layer of greasy grimy dust and ash with a strong chemical stink. So the house is not livabe at the moment and will require extensive clean-up. Stuff
like sofas, chairs and mattresses will have to be thrown out, but this is small
potatoes.

What is not small is because most of the houses in the neighborhood have been burned to the ground the whole area will be closed for clean-up for what is conservatively estimated at 1.5 years. Meaning they won't be able to live there.

So at the end of the day the worth of staying behind and risking life and limb is debatable and the biggest winner seems to be the insurance company.
531   Ceffer   2025 Jan 29, 11:58am

Just like all the Dem subversive strategies, Newscum doesn't want any effective fire fighting infrastructure.

Because California needs more expensive gas and oil. It's another KommieKunt fantasy with blame shifting green baloney giving a pipe dream to the litigious free shitters.
534   Ceffer   2025 Jan 29, 3:02pm

Oh, no! How will the crisis actor actors respond to this? Better get some adreono head Hollywood english on it. What kickapoo joy juice do they have this grinning Kommie Soros Fecal Impaction mayor on?

Bass is talking about bringing in the mercenaries and crematorium ovens and fencing the whole area off with Globalist NATO guards in like Lahaina, and intimidating the former residents into submission. They don't want any evidence leaking out that they don't manage, and the corrupt coroner and pathologists are probably already assembled.

House 'survived'? Well, it's in a hell hole of cindered, toxic ash and all the utilities will be cut off, anyway. Just hope to get a truckload of shit out of there before the razing.

Where are all the limousine liberal coastal elites who got burned out? How come no cacaphony of loud squawks from the displaced? Are they really that clueless?

535   AmericanKulak   2025 Jan 29, 5:49pm

@Ceffer... literally the title of the thread:

536   Blue   2025 Jan 29, 6:26pm

As per last night news on ABC, it takes forever to clean up all those toxic chemicals from things like burnt EV he showed. And has to take at least one foot depth layer to finish the cleanup. Later if you neighbor starts doing it, that would spread same toxic chemicals and has to do it all over again!
Ok, the message was don’t bother thinking of coming back!
I really want to hear about where are all these arsonists who burned down the place.

Not to mention that most tubs are not porcelain but either cast iron or plastic (fiberglass?).

Same here in IL. If the house is 1980 or older it's steel most the time. The new tubs are fiberglass. I remodeled our 2nd bath and it was a bitch getting that tub out. Rarely use it unless I have the flu or something and want to get warm. We'll have a hot tub though at the new place, just have to go outside.

Either way I highly doubt toilets and tubs are gone. That would be a massively hot fire. Usable, no, but they're not gone.

They were both completely done “actively” burning in about 4-5 days.

'Contained' is a self serving euphemism for 'Fire eventually burned out on its own' or 'It rained'.
