Gross underestimate. Try trillions.

It's bullshit: smog checks only required if vehicle is getting registered in CA. Why would Oregon firefighters try to register their trucks here?

Hell in IL it's county by county. I don't have to get an emissions tests in my county, but I'm literally 1.5 miles away from where everyone in the neighboring county has to get it done annually. Libtard politics. West to East prevailing winds exist here. Sure..... my emissions don't go your way at all....

I'm just glad I don't have to do it. Gas is whatever as far as money. I'm a time guy, as in wasting it going to the testing center when I used to have to do it. It's more emissions as well.

I've done a couple road trips to CA when I was younger. Only hassle at that time was the stupid produce road blocks. I only fly in now. You guys have some level 10 retarded laws as I know this is a California centric forum. I know I won't change anything, but as an outsider, even from another blue state, your government is bat shit crazy. IL is probably a 5.

Yesterday heard on kcbs about LA fires that there are pockets emerging in 18 states now for the fire risks because of global warming!
Are they cooking something, we all know arsonists do this stuff almost every time.

Agree with arsonists, but I think it's just wind that's fueling it. Put a leaf blower on a fire. I use it to start my fires. Sure someone has to start it or some device, but I just think it's shitty management on many levels and failure of prevention by homeowners.

I could fireproof my house inside and out for $30k. It would never burn. It's not complicated.

Such a mystery why a sole blue van survived and everything else didn't. Also no computerized electronics?

Hmm. About those mysterious fogs. So many ways to kill and destroy property, so little time.

They're extremely active now creating phony narratives for the fires. Virtue signaling by the complicit politicians is on tilt. They literally think they can virtue signal their roles away. The media Godzillas are on.

It's metal. Embers won't start it on fire. Even if the tires start on fire the whole car won't go up. You need wood, siding, plastic, etc. An old van like that likely has little to no rubber on the exterior. Not sure what would ignite? Gas tanks on old cars are metal. There's just really no ignition point or fuel.

No plastics outside. And only metal roof for embers to land on. Where they would only somewhat damage paint and that's it.

The real tragedy. Shit was worthless since it was nothing more than a bribe vehicle.

463   WookieMan   2025 Jan 16, 5:31am

Ceffer, I like your commentary, but the screen shots are getting bad. Just post a link and maybe a quote from the source.

The images are getting unbearable. I don't read them. Can't search them. I don't think anyone does. Information overload so to speak. Won't ignore you, but maybe post differently.

I'd bet most users just scroll past at this point. Just change up the format on comments. I think you'd get more interaction. 7 more ignores than me and I'm an ass hole. It's honestly getting kind of spam like.
464   Ceffer   2025 Jan 16, 11:14am

Put me on ignore at your pleasure. I wouldn't want you to die the death of a thousand memes. There are as many posting them as me.

That was my point. It's not just you, sorry if you felt it was a dig at you. Used to be 90% original content and it down 10% is my guess. I'm not 5 years old looking at a picture book.

Yes, you are. Not a dig on you but a statement of reality of the situation.

Memes are more economic and there are no 'original source'. Or rather, it's a lot of extra effort to fund it and copy it vs just post the original meme.

I refused to be richwicks' Google bitch when there was nothing stopping him from looking it up if it were so damn important to him. Same logic here.

Yo @Patrick

I believe you studiously read this guy. Do you have pay wall access to the full article?

I do have a complimentary subscription to him for the next week, but that article is not paywalled. Shows up in full at https://www.kunstler.com/p/climate-jeezus-taketh-away

It does end with an ellipsis (...) so that makes it look like there's more, but there isn't.
