Texas father tracks kidnapped daughter’s phone to rescue her on Christmas Day

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Giovanni Rosales Espinoza.

A Texas father rescued his abducted teenage daughter on Christmas Day by using her cellphone’s location after she was kidnapped by a knife-wielding man.

Officers with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home around 4:50 pm on Christmas Day after a 15-year-old girl failed to return home from walking her dog. Using parental controls on his daughter’s phone, the father was able to track her location to a “secluded, partially wooded area” that was located about two miles away.

The father, who was not publicly identified by the sheriff’s office, went to the location himself, where he found his daughter and her dog inside a pickup truck with a partially nude man. He was able to safely retrieve his daughter and return home, where they proceeded to contact the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Giovanni Rosales Espinoza. Investigators said he had threatened the teenager with a knife. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child. Espinoza is being held in the county jail without bond as the investigation continues.

According to KHOU, the suspect was unknown to the family. Authorities said the family is relieved that the girl is home safely and recovering from the incident.

And will be let out shortly to kidnap again.

I'm surprised that the girl's father didn't have a gun; this happened in Texas after all.

Or, maybe he did and didn't shoot the illegal.

Only if it's a woman judge.

Sure about that?

All the cases I've heard about so far have been women judges, like Iryna Zarutska's killer's judge.

Yesterday, the New York Times ran a story headlined, “Justice Department Sues Virginia Over Tuition Aid for Unauthorized Immigrants.” In case it wasn’t clear, the sub-headline added, “The DOJ said the state’s policy of granting unauthorized immigrants in-state financial aid at public colleges and universities violates federal law.”

Put simply: the State of Virginia pays illegal immigrants’ tuition and gives them in-state rates. Yesterday, the DOJ filed suit to stop it. ...

The DOJ’s legal argument is simple. It argues that it is a constitutional violation of equal protection to provide illegals with in-state tuition and advantage foreign nationals over Americans from other states. The policies also violate various federal laws and regulations, which the DOJ argues should preempt contrary state laws like Virginia’s.

Democrats quoted for the story worried that the DOJ aims to overturn a 1982 Supreme Court case, Plyler v. Doe, in which the high court held that state governments must provide illegal immigrants with a free K-12 public school education. At the time, the New York Times still knew how to say “illegal alien” instead of using kooky and confusing euphemisms like “undocumented” and “unauthorized:”

It wasn’t immediately clear how the DOJ’s lawsuit against college tuition threatens Plyler v. Doe, but never mind. The takeaway is that the Trump Administration is now working to unwind almost 50 years of progressive “conventional wisdom” that illegal aliens residing in a state should enjoy the same public benefits available to citizens.

The problem with Democrats is not that they are ungenerous. The problem is that they are so generous with other people’s money.
