Thinking about getting a physical or digital one for myself and the kids.

There's too much reliance on Wikipedia.

Randal Carlson uses physical volume kind from before 1964 or earlier, because he believes there is too much revised history and disinformation after that.

While I tend to agree with that sentiment, memory holing has been going on since humans existed. Unless you have a physical hand written copy or it's on a cave wall it could all be made up. Hence why I don't believe in religion. Hell I don't even trust images now digitally. They could all be altered.

The University of Michigan had the "Great Soviet Encyclopedia", which would routinely send out alternate pages as politics changed in the USSR, lol. All the libraries were supposed to throw out old pages and replace them with the new ones, but UM simply kept them all, which made interesting reading.
