BRICS: "Keep giving (most of) us free access to your markets while we plot against your interests."

Trump: "No, that's a bad deal for us."

World: "How dare Trump protect America's interests against our interests in maximizing our short and long term interests! Fascist! Protectionist!
Orange Dictator!"

I've always just thought BRICS was a joke. CA, TX, FL and NY alone are bigger GDP wise than BRICS. Now throw in fly over country with the most fertile land on the planet and possible fracking land. We could cut everyone off and still make a ton of money without imports and they go broke if we don't buy anything from them.

Some sacrifices would be made, but it would be trivial. Another question that I've never heard asked. Where is our foreign aid from other countries? We sure as shit send out a lot. Has another country ever given us foreign aid outside of war? And that's generally troops, not money.

Mexico sent some of its firefighters to help out with the California wildfires. Canada sent some of its planes that drop water on blazes.

The US has been known to refuse help from foreign countries.

Labor is one thing. We send billions annually to other countries and they can do what they want I guess was my point. Has any nation sent the US money in the last say 20 years? Probably not. Appreciate help, but that technically is cheap.

That's why Trump has a hard on for tariffs. What has anyone done for us that we can't already do?

China and Japan have bought a couple trillion dollars of US Treasuries in exchange for goods they produced. Do you think we will be able to pay them off at face value ???

Sounds like a hand out to me.
