LMAO, so I've been saying at least during the 2024 election cycle like on Mr Mish's website MishTalk that the economic data is at best misleading. I hope Mister Mish stays on this like a watchdog.

The Wolfman at Wolf Street has been reporting how great the economy has been and how much illegal immigration (or cheap labor) is needed.

Expect more downward adjustments to all the 2024 rosy-color economic data over the next 12 months.

"Voters Were Right About the Economy. The Data Was Wrong.
Here’s why unemployment is higher, wages are lower and growth less robust than government statistics suggest."

The goal was for the career bureaucrat economists at the various federal agencies to get Harris over the election year finish line in 2024 until the mainstream media could not fool enough voters into thinking the Biden economy was at least good

Wow, didn't expect that kind of article from Politico.

They were acquired by the Left in 2018. Most news seekers stopped seeing it as a relevant source of facts.
Democrats has long been conditioned to think it's a Rightwing Rag, so they don't read it. The only thing keeping them afloat has been Government checks and contracts. To feed the mockingbird stories they could source from Politico. Now that spigot has been turned off, their only chance is to try to be seen as a news source again. I'm not saying they will prevail. But I don't expect them to be the sour grape news wet blanket TDS brigade of the past.

Isn't Mish kinna like a mini-Cramer in reliably wrong economic predictions? He used to post around here until getting hammered.

I thought Mish was a cheese.

MISLEADING? That like arguing that rosie o'donnell is attractive woman because she might be attractive to a cannibal or a broke ass black dude.

If she is hung out over a window sill puking drunk and her pants are down, she'll get fertilized, even if her cootie is all maggots and pus.

At least you do not have to worry about lube.

Mister Mish is no Peter Schiff. I don't think Mish is that much of an outlier or eccentric.

He's more of a cautious and prudent harbinger like Wolfman at Wolf Street.

He seems mainstream in his views on finance, but more like a value investor.

He is like most journalists. He's paid for his opinions. He is very pro Globalist (open borders/off shoring). He will write up an article based on what his owners tell him. He has been honest about who owns his Webpage and when it switches so he does have that going for him.

Wolfman does not allow any comment criticizing the establishment.

The Wolfman lives in San Fran Bay Area and I believe Wolfman is center left of the political scale.

I would expect Mister Mish, a Wall St executive, to be pro Chamber of Commerce, hence he is a pro-open border for cheap workers for manual labor and high tech jobs.

another "working and middle class" restaurant filing for bankruptcy like Red Lobster, Hooters, Bucca di Beppo, TGIF Friday

all or almost all of these were very popular in the 1990s but then the "working and middle class" has been under assault since Bill Clinton's free trade treaties

and you all saw the chart of how now the top 10% (i.e., household income of at least $250K) account for at least 50% of personal spending

Well if you had a cushy Government job, or at a company that depended on NGO grant money and USAID payouts, then you would have believed the Economy was booming. There had never been a better time to be a grifter or to get employed with mediocre skills, as long as you hit the right skin tone.
16   AmericanKulakMaximumTrumper   2025 Mar 8, 2:20pm

What did the 2022-2024 numbers break down to?

If I recall, even the gussied up Biden figures had something like 80% of all job growth being government dependent jobs, either outright gov employment or through highly subsidized NGOs.
17   Karloff   2025 Mar 8, 3:43pm

Democrats get tricked into damned near everything. Covid, climate, wokeness, war..

I think they were originally people with extreme levels of naivety who got tricked into being Democrats.

Not tricked. They are complicit in their delusions being served by their chosen media sources.

Yeah I think Mish Talk had reported about this showing a vast majority of the Biden "jobs growth" was in healthcare (i.e., Medicaid, Medicare, Affordable Care Act subsidized premiums) and government jobs.

Democrats are our overburdensome useless "Clerisy"... a Managerial Class, and using "Social Science" to justify their pronouncements and jobs.

We should seize and sell off these "Monasteries"

And not 'replace' them
21   PeopleUnited   2025 Mar 9, 12:51pm

How to trick a Democrat. Open your mouth, say something that only a Democrat would say. Then whatever you say after that is received as truth, no matter how ridiculous it is to someone who is not drinking the kool aid.
