President Donald Trump warned Elon Musk he would not take kindly to seeing one of his administration’s chief advisors build a manufacturing plant in India.

Now tell him about the new battery plant in Chyna.

Trump tells Big Pharma to bring production home or face tariffs: Bloomberg News

President Donald Trump has warned a group of major U.S. drugmakers that his administration is set to impose tariffs on pharmaceutical goods, and they should start moving their manufacturing businesses to the U.S., Bloomberg News reported Saturday.

Trump made the remarks at a private meeting held at the White House on Thursday. David Ricks, CEO of Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY), Robert Davis, CEO of Merck (NYSE:MRK), and Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) CEO Albert Bourla were among the attendees at the event.

At the meeting, executives failed to receive a commitment from the newly elected president to scale back a major healthcare reform program introduced by the Biden administration that allowed Medicare to negotiate drug prices for the first time.

Stephen Ubl, CEO of the pharma lobby group Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), also attended the meeting.

PhRMA represents leading drugmakers such as Amgen (AMGN), Biogen (BIIB), Bristol Myers (BMY), Roche (OTCQX:RHHBY), Gilead Sciences (GILD), GSK (GSK), Novartis (NVS), J&J (NYSE:JNJ) and Takeda (TAK).

I don't understand how some of these US industries that have moved overseas are not considered a national security risk. We should not import things or loose the manufacturing capacity for things that cripple our ability to be independent.

Not even just considering war with China as a reason what if something happened to China like a natural disaster, plague, or civil war.
