An American named Paul Chambers said something about the Thai king that got him arrested, but not one of the 6 articles I looked at quoted what he said or linked to it.

So what was it, that all the papers are so afraid of quoting it?

One might presume some kind of pedo/gay/Baphomet thing, since it sounds personal. It seems to be a royal standard worldwide.

According to some link I found on hacker news, the military (which has a multi-decade history of intervening through martial law) uses this all the time to quell dissent. When they overreach egregiously, the accused is sometimes pardoned by the monarch.

Thailand is de facto run by the military, the king is a figurehead.
