Greenville, SC, in the upper northwest corner of the state.

Come for the shopping center bars, stay for the drunken gay senators.

We don’t have bars in stores but we don’t get charged for plastic here in IL. I find that so asinine. Maybe chicago but I’ve never seen it

We just used a bunch at a track meet to not litter. They pack light we clean up. Litter upsets me. Also 99% of garbage is in a plastic bag anyway.

If you are 65 or older, you are better off in GA than SC.

Greenville is the alleged location of one of the 'two chapel' sacrificial ceremonies in 1963 turning over the Vatican to Lucifer (as according to Malachi Martin, Jesuit, in his book 'The Windswept House').

Triumph of the Freemason influence on the Church (P2/P3 Freemasons)? As stated openly in his book, Albert Pike said that the Masons served and worshiped Lucifer.

That's unusual - even for a Harris Teeter. I don't think I ever saw that around Charlotte (NC) or Fort Mill/ Indian Land (SC) when I lived there.

For those of you not in the know - Harris Teeter is probably the nicest grocery store you will ever shop in, and it's not over priced like a whole paycheck store.

Yeppers. Really nice. I’ve been to two nearby and they both had bars. Also, wife dragged me to the mall. Nicest department store there, and I try to stay away from such - Dillard’s. Never been before.

State income taxes over 65 in GA. They don't tax social security and you get a 65K retirement income tax exclusion on top of that.

So we bought a new condo quite walkable to downtown Greenvile, but not directly in the downtown area, which is good as it is quite touristy during the warm months, lots of noise, traffic, etc. For some residents, this is a second home - Texicans, Floridians. The parking garage is full of pricey Mercedes, BMW’s, Audi’s. Not an insignificant number of electrics. The fellow across the row just bought a new Cadillac Lyriq. Anyway, we are concerned that we may risk eviction, or at least shunning, as we drive a 2022 Subaru Outback and a 2007 Lexus ES350. I am trying to convince my wife to ditch the Lexus, which she loves, for a new C8 Corvette. Only comes as an automatic, which means she can drive it. I’d say 90% of the residents are boomers. They gots the money.

They do in a lot of places. The dumbest thing is it reduces waste and litter. I keep a bag or two in the car and toss my trash at the gas station. Other people just throw it out the window. Cost more to pick up litter instead of having a mini trash bag in your car. Liberals.

I was doing a software rollout for a nationwide company and spent a couple weeks working in Columbia last century back when South Carolina was still flying the Confederate Battle flag. One of our team was black. He hit it off with a couple white guys in local management and invited them to go golfing if they ever came to Houston (corporate HQ). They were shocked and asked, "would we go to a 'white' or a 'black' course?" Our guy was a bit confused at first but figured it out and replied that "We would go to a 'mixed' course". There was still a lot of racism back then.

I also worked in Charleston. I stayed at a "haunted" hotel. South Carolina has history.

My favorite place was Myrtle Beach. Spent a weekend there after tourist season but before it got cold.

Racsists come in all colors and races. Driving around the rural areas in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, you can see Confererate flags. Are these people racist or proud of their heritage?

If you care, you're probably racists yourself. It's a flag. If it's heritage, your ancestors provided free housing, food, water and lodging to people. How awful. Hollywood has made slavery a white monster.

Were there bad plantation owners, yes. We just see/hear the worst of the worst. They were property. Do you kick your car or house anytime something comes up? Nope. TV/Hollywood makes us believe that slaves were just beaten and whipped constantly. Slaves likely couldn't write. It's all made up. Just like we'll look back on Covid.

In the city of Greenvile, you can drive a golf cart on the road. I thnk the speed limit in town is 25, but folks do 40. Hate to encounter a speeding F350 in one.

Although more normal than not, in SC you can buy wine in Costco, Trader Joe’s, supermarkets, etc. Not in Maryland.

Call me a Karen. I call the cops on speeders. I've got a few caught and am having a stop sign installed on my new street by the village.

I'm sorry, you need to speed for whatever reason, get going earlier or own up to the fact you're late.

Our town is golf carts, side by sides, kids biking and people walking their dogs or running. Hurt or kill someone speeding there will be consequences. Citizens kind of run our town. Someone gets out of order they get destroyed.

IL besides a few counties doesn't care about booze. You can get it 6am-2am if the establishment stays open that late including grocery stores as you listed (as long as they're open). Chicago has 4am licenses. Usually though it's 2am.

For how loose IL is it's way less drunk than WI. People just get hammered up in WI. Lakes up there scare the shit out of me. I'm no captain, but I handles pontoon boats well. Done speed boats on Bear Lake Utah/Idaho. Done pontoons in Pensacola and Navarre, FL in the intercostal. WI you will die if your head is not on a swivel.

I have a friend who is in his mid-50's that went to school in Graham, NC. He drove the school bus. He would park it at his house every night and use it to pick up kids the next day. True Story. I've heard of kids doing that in SC too. Apparently it used to be quite common before centralization started.

I haven't seen that in the 30 years I've lived in the South.
