What Bass and Newsom are really afraid of is that Trump will effectively quell the riots in short order with a bunch of arrests. That would show everybody that they were not merely incompetent, but complicit with the riots. That is why they have to start screaming louder and longer that it is 'all Trump's' fault', getting the Goebbels reversal in play right away.

Same when Xi visited San Francisco. They had the homeless cleared out in days. There were even allegations that homeless were liquidated. That means that the homeless industrial complex is manufactured by the politicians on purpose and for purpose (laundering tax money, customer base for drug dealers/cartels, etc.).
