Trump must insist any peace deal involves Russia taking Murkowski.

Alaska is an interesting choice. Former Russian territory.

As were parts of California.

It's going to be a cease-fire. A.k.a. armistice.

This will be the map:

[Edit on 8/15: because socal2 is confused, I updated this with new maps here. https://patrick.net/comment?comment_id=2198573 ]

Many sanctions on Russia will be dropped. More later when a peace treaty is formalized -- if that ever happens. Further NATO involvement in Ukey Naziland seems to murky. Russia has dropped it as a condition - at least for the armistice. Russian demands for De-Nazification of Ukey dropped for armistice as well.

Expect immediately post armistice signing that Zelensky will be dropped like a neon glowy dildo at a WNBA basketball game. So I expect some sort of mega golden parachute provided for him will be involved...followed within a month or so with an FSB bullet to the head in a nice Swiss chalet.

Trump will declare victory - that he ended the war. Dems & media punks will suddenly give a damn about educating the geopolitically ignorant American public about the difference between an armistice and an actual peace treaty. To the point they will go all prefessorial on live TV no matter how many ppl change the channel.

Both sides will use this as a respite to re-arm, re-build and send the young men home to make much needed babies.

Full dropping of all sanctions and international recognition of Moscow's territorial gains may be withheld as a carrot for that peace treaty afterward.

Whether the war later resumes or a final peace treaty happens or the armistice becomes the status quo like the Korean War has, I dunno. My gut at this point sez the first is more likely to happen because the Russians will be able to re-arm fastest and first, the neolibs will block all sanctions removal & captured territory recognition and Russia for all its losses still has more men to burn through while Ukey Naziland does not.

Also, Europe will suddenly go back to complacency...something Putin is counting on.

Italy is already financing the construction of the bridge to Sicily out of defense spending.

So give it 18 months to 2yrs.

Agreed. And they could have avoided so much bloodshed and loss of life if they had conceded these territories which have a strong Russian identity right away and called it a deal.
5   clambo   2025 Aug 9, 8:42am

It's bullshit; you can't negotiate with a disturbed mind, which is what Putin has.

Biden, who went all in on the war, didn't even have a functioning mind, so what is worse?

Yes. It must have been maddening having to deal with Brandon.

Tend to agree with this. Could have just gone to Ukraine and purchased a 20 mile swath wide of land to Crimea. That's all they really needed. The Russians can then move into that area. They sold us Alaska and they didn't even think of just paying Ukraine for the land? Let's destroy the land we want and have however many people die.

It's rather ironic they'll be meeting in Alaska of all places and I think that is going to be Trumps negotiating point. Ukraine likes money. They've lost a lot of men AND women that fled the country since the good men fled to not be conscripted. Trump knows the game dodging Vietnam. Every country is basically in some demographic crisis outside of Muslim nations. Just be done with the killing. Both countries are losing good people to war for what is seemingly nothing.

On a podcast Monday, Robert pointed out the remarkable and absolutely correct fact that, until Tulsi Gabbard began declassifying RussiaGate evidence, Trump was still stymied under a black “Russian influence” cloud.

No matter what he did to settle the war, if he gave any concessions to Putin, no matter how reasonable or justified, his enemies would have instantly accused him of “selling out” to Russia. They’d have hung him higher than Haman, with the rope of Russia collusion.

Barnes is right. Trump was stuck. It was like a hostage situation; his enemies were still holding Russia Collusion at a secret location, to force Trump to stay in his lane. Then, a few weeks ago, Trump sent in a rhetorical special forces team and started declassifying documents, one after another.

Now, everything has changed.

Within a handful of weeks, all Trump’s enemies have now lawyered up. And their lawyers have surely told them to shut up. Anyone who now accuses Trump of being compromised by Russia risks being linked to the seditious plot.

In other words, it had to happen in this order. Trump had to draw out the poison. First declass, then peace deals. In hindsight, it seems obvious that Trump could never settle the proxy war with Putin until after he’d briefed the public on where the RussiaGate allegations originally came from.

Trump had a B2 fly over Putin's head.

Hopefully the same B2 that bombed Putin's Islamist goat-fucker allies in Iran.

Someone else posted that map you are displaying, not me.

And since then the map I posted on Aug 8 here has been updated with 4 new possible maps:

https://patrick.net/comment?comment_id=2198573

And they look a lot more like the one you attribute to me, if that makes a difference.

Do keep up with that which you bitch about, will ya?

None of those maps match the "new" one you posted at the top of this thread.

No Kherson or Zaporizhia. Basically half of what you called "certain".

But keep moving those goalposts!

Hundreds of thousands dead and wounded Russians and new NATO members on Russia's border..........for what?

Yeah. Because they are UPDATED ones. You have reading comprehension probs?

What goalposts? I don't set the agenda for the talks. I just post what I know when I know...like everyone else here.

You can't even figure out who posts what.

Here you go, tho. Just for you:

What next? Want me to help you find your binky?

Your "updated" maps don't match your latest "update" at the top of the thread showing only half of what you were calling "certain" for the last 2 years.

If your latest updated map becomes reality, I think most Ukrainians will think it was worth defending their country from Russia taking much more land, disbanding their military and political leadership and installing a puppet regime.

THAT is because they are UPDATED maps.

And where do I state my previous was 'certain'?

19   socal2   2025 Aug 15, 2:14pm

MolotovCocktail says

Again, if these UPDATED maps become reality, Russia will walk away with just 50% of their most minimum goal that was all but "Certain" by the likes of you until a few minutes ago.

Pretending that this is not a massive loss to Russia's initial goals despite all the blood and treasure they wasted over the last 3 years is kidding ourselves.

There are no winners in all this. But IF these maps hold, Ukraine will be totally vindicated to put up a fight and defend their nation from a total take over from Russia.

Show proof of their 'minimum' goal, then.

You keep making up shit...several comments now. So I am asking for proof.
22   socal2   2025 Aug 15, 2:33pm

You tell me what Russia's goal has been in all this?

Please be specific.

I believe Ukraine's goal was to:

- Maintain their government free of Russian influence - check
- Maintain an armed military - check
- Maintain their existing borders - Ukraine was able to fight hard and recoup about 80% of the land that Russia initially conquered in early 2022

To you this means that "UKRAINE IS FUCKED".

What does it mean for Russia to lose hundreds of thousands of men, lose lucrative oil customers in Europe, destruction of their Navy, loss of military credibility and customers, destruction of major oil refining infrastructure and hasten the implosion of BRICS as a counterweight to the US?

I think it is pretty hard to argue that Russia wouldn't be in a superior and stronger place economically and militarily if they never started this cock-up of a war only to achieve a few border adjustments that gives them some land ruined by war that will take decades to clean of landmines.

If Trump hands over Switzerland, City of London, and the Vatican to Putin, along with whatever land gluttonous territory of the former Ukraine he wants, then the summit will be a success.

Simple. Was showing a map similar to what Headset and Ceffer were talking about. AS ANYONE CAN TELL. So what?

28   Ceffer   2025 Aug 15, 3:45pm

Neither Trump nor Putin drink alcohol. Trump's brother died of alcoholism.

29   clambo   2025 Aug 15, 3:50pm

This is a bullshit non-event.

The only solution is to blast Putin back to the stone age; I don't know if the West wants to spend the money on missiles to do it.
30   MolotovCocktail   2025 Aug 15, 3:57pm

Putin takes the first fucked up question from the American media:

Question: "Why do you keep moving the goalposts? Aren’t you CERTAIN your battle maps are accurate?"

Putin: "Because...it's a fucking W-A-R. Shit changes all the time. Duh!"

"But you said "UKRAINE IS FUCKED!"

Putin: "Who are you and what org you report for?"

If Trump took a time machine and replaced Abraham Lincoln, he would have let the Confederate states secede.
"There's been too much fighting already, it's time to let them secede; peace is the most important goal."

I like many things that Trump is doing, but he's suffering for drinking too much of his own KoolAid; he cannot charm Putin into not being crazy.
Putin doesn't care if Russia has 4 million casualties; he's doing just fine and that's what matters to him and other megalomaniacs.
40   WookieMan   2025 Aug 16, 7:29am

Regardless of flight path or time. It was the ultimate troll by Trump. "Hey, meet at the land you used to own." "Oh shit look at those B-2's up there."

It was a show of force and dominance. Putin loves his history of Russia and the USSR. Trump was saying fuck you. Look at what I have. Will it result in anything, likely no. I saw people bitching about Putin speaking first. I didn't get that. Why wouldn't you want the last word on territory that was once theirs with B-2's flying over?

The other thing is this was done on a Friday. You'll get the Sunday shows that most people are hung over or doing their last summer trip. 90% of people are not going to watch any of it. Most people didn't even know this was happening. Trump knows PR. There's a chance it doesn't go well and gets buried on a weekend news cycle in summer. Doesn't make him look bad. He looks good to the people that care is the point.

I think this was a shot at Z (Ukraine). I'm not fucking around. B2's and Alaska, how much more could you emasculate Putin? I think Z is next in the crosshairs. There's a strategy here it just took too much time.
