When I was a few weeks postpartum with my second child, I bundled us both up and waddled into the Fairfax County Circuit Court to testify against a man who had accosted my then-toddler daughter and I in a public bathroom while I was heavily pregnant.

When I arrived I was brought into a room with his other victims and found out he had assaulted a woman in the same bathroom. I suddenly felt I had been lucky.

The arresting officer who had also interviewed me weeks prior was clearly eager to do everything right to keep this guy off the street—he found additional witnesses, pulled surveillance footage, followed every step to the letter.

It was physically painful and difficult for me to even be there—trying to discreetly feed and soothe my two week-old for 6 hours on hard benches when we should both be home in bed. It was also terrifying discreetly breastfeeding in the same room as this monster.

When I finally took the stand, the attorney for the Commonwealth asked me if the man who was in the bathroom that day was in the room.

I paused, confused—because I knew what was going to happen next.

The courtroom had been packed all day but as case after case was handled, ours was the last one—now it was just the judge, court reporter, bailiff, the defendant, his lawyer, the Commonwealth attorney, and I.

The arresting officer wasn't in the room. The other victim and her husband had been given a new court date and sent home.

I adjusted my baby against my chest and looked at her as she repeated the question: Do you see the man you reported to police in this room today?

Why was she doing this? What was she doing?

I was sweating in my oversized cashmere nursing sweater and I felt prickles down my back. Everyone was staring at me. I'm not a lawyer. She asked me a question... and she was “on my side” so I should answer it, right?

I adjusted my baby again to give myself a free hand—and I pointed to him.

And just as I expected, his lawyer immediately pointed out there was nobody else present in the courtroom who it could be and therefore we had violated his constitutional right to due process.

The judge agreed. Hell, I agreed—but then I asked WHY hadn't the Commonwealth given me a photo array to choose from? Why did she ASK that?

Too late. It didn't matter that he was on surveillance footage entering the bathroom before us and pushing past us as we fled.

He was set free.

As I walked out of the court room the arresting officer spotted me from down the hall and ran over to me “Is it back in this courtroom? Is it starting?”

No, I told him, it's already over. He had been sent to another courtroom “by mistake.” He didn't even get a chance to testify. He looked horrified.

The Commonwealth attorney and “victims advocate” that morning assured us they were going to fight for us. They were SO SORRY this had happened to us. They were SO GRATEFUL that I had come to testify in my condition.

Instead they seemingly intentionally let the monster walk free.

It's been two years.

Yesterday he was released on bail for yet another crime—one of at least THIRTEEN he's committed since that day in court—including sexual abuse of a child under 15.

His arrest record from just the last 5 years spans four pages on the Virginia court website.

Look at how many women—and CHILDREN—he's victimized since that day.

Look how many times his victims have gone to court just as I did only to see him set free again and again and again.

This is NOT happening by accident.

This is deliberate.

I suspect that these kind of things happen more commonly than a lot of us think...things are bad and they will not change.

Who is the bigger threat? Beastly Decarlos Brown? Or the liberal judges who repeatedly released that deranged psychopath after each of his fourteen prior criminal arrests so that he could continue preying on us all? I’m just asking.

Or is it us, in a indirect way? We vote people into power who become unaccountable once elected. They vote on laws that sets up the system we are in.

Not us, women.

It is almost always leftist women in power who release violent psychopaths like Decarlos Brown.

Things will indeed change if men stop letting women's feelings defeat the justice system.

Wow, that's just wrong.

That guy absolutely 100% deserves to die as soon as possible.

Right now, this guy is in a temperature controlled prison cell eating taxpayer funded food, perhaps with access to television. He likely has a line of Democrat lawyers ready to defend him and a Democratic judge (with qualified immunity) who will be pleased to hand him a life sentence at worst. He would have access to psychiatrists and medications since he was oppressed and abused. He may not serve his full sentence, if he gets sentenced. If this was Singapore or any of the Middle Eastern countries, he would get the punishment he deserves but not in the land of the brave wokes...so what justice system are we dealing with. I remember a young criminal attorney in Akron telling me the kind of travesty of justice he sees is astonishing...we have a broken justice system...it may not be the worst in the world but given the resources our country has, it is dysfunctional.

I know men who are as bad as the women but I suspect they are less in number.

Our country used to have hospitals focused on psychiatric patients...they are mostly extinct now?

Brown has a long criminal history, but was repeatedly put back on the streets due to cashless bail policies.

He was put back on the streets because of his diagnosed mental problems.

We need to bring back asylums. But that will cost serious $$$$.

Yeah, can't do that without a robust industrial economy - oh, yeah we disassembled them packed them up and shipped them to China in the 1990's.

I worked my way through college as an aide on the ward in a mental institution (also was elected union president). By and large the recidivism was so great you could almost predict who was going to come back and how soon. It did help keep potential (and actual) killers off the street. Alcoholics would come in when it got too cold out, and you could see them putting their pint bottles in a tree before admitting themselves.

we understood that most crime in the west was committed by a small number of people and that they needed to be kept away from everyone else because nothing was going to stop them. europe understood this too. people make a big deal out of “US incarceration rates” but what really spiked that was closing the mental hospitals and ending involuntary psych holds in the US. this spread the problem to the streets and it wound up in the jails. europe kept doing invol-psych holds. add up prison and locked mental ward populations as one figure and europe looks a lot like the US as a percentage. in western culture, there are simply about 2% of people you cannot trust around everyone else. they are too damaged, mentally ill, or incapable of self-control or self-regulation. they will never play nice with the others. and one way or another, you need to remove them or you get crime, mayhem, murder, and all manner of other problems like homeless drug addicts living under overpasses and losing arguments with parking meters and breaking into cars.

and you can like this fact or not, but it does not change: there are parts of the world where people like this are FAR more common than they are here. it is, in fact, why those parts of the world tend to be such awful places. somalia and haiti and syria are lovely pieces of land. people are not fleeing the terrain.

we once understood not to allow low-trust high-aggression lunatics in from overseas in wholesale quantities and to laugh ideas like “well some of them are nice” and “not all tigersharks” out of the room.

but the flood of the unvetted and unsuited has been endemic and deliberate. these groups cannot assimilate and would not wish to if they could. this is especially true of islam, a religion and culture neither suited nor inclined to coexistence among the west. i routinely ask: name three countries in the last 200 years where a large influx of islam has made the country better. i get crickets then howls of “islamophobia!” from the very people islam is itching to destroy (women, homosexuals, progressives, etc) ...

and again, none of this flood, especially the 4 years under brandon, is an accident. it’s just the next line of “provoke then make self-defense out to be violence.”

once you flood 10’s of millions of non-integratable immigrants into america, many of whom are gang members, violent people emptied from foreign prisons, political radicals, and whatever other anti-social or culturally incompatible mess could be lured with “free stuff equal to multiples of what you had at home, here’s a plane ticket,” the situation becomes impossible.

you have so much bad in amongst and contaminating that which possibly could have been good that ideas like “well let’s sort it out case by case” become impossible. you simply cannot do that 20 million times. it literally cannot be done. not even just for the violent criminals.

and again, the creation of this impossible hobson’s choice zugzwang devoid of non-awful alternatives is not an accident. it’s a classic “hang your enemy on the horns of a dilemma” tactic.

once in the mess, the only path is either:

accept the invasion and give up

or to go broad brush and start wholesale deportation and benefits/participation denial including and especially health care to cause enough fear that people start to self-remove in large numbers. you cannot arrest and deport 20 million people. they need to want to leave. ...

if you force high-agency people who want to live in the ordered emergent peace of a high-function social contract to choose between the rights of criminals and the safety of and opportunity for their children, that choice can only ever go one way and if you create a situation so intractable that only jackboots, authoritarianism, and throwing marxists out of helicopters can fix it, that is exactly what you’ll get.

every. damn. time.

i really hope the left has the sense to back off of this, but i doubt they do.

A mentally ill man hallucinating that he is a woman, right?

If a man claims "transgender" but hasn't cut off his dick, he's either wants in the girls room or is just a plain old homosexual (with mental issues).

Just my opinion.

New Stabbing on Charlotte Train Gets Trump's Attention

Alleged assailant is in the country illegally

Police in North Carolina have charged a 33-year-old man with critically injuring another person in a stabbing on a Charlotte commuter train—just a few months after a fatal stabbing on a different city train. The latest assault did not escape President Trump's notice on Saturday.

Oscar Solarzano, 33, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and other crimes stemming from the Friday afternoon attack in which he wielded a large knife, said Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, per the AP. Police said the victim suffered a stab wound and was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
Solarzano was being held in jail Saturday without bond. A magistrate judge said in a court filing that the suspect was in the US illegally and had previously been deported. ...

The assault comes less than four months after a 23-year-old woman from Ukraine was killed on a Charlotte commuter train in an apparently random assault captured on video. The victim, Iryna Zarutska, had been living in a bomb shelter in Ukraine before coming to the US to escape the war, her relatives said. A suspect, Decarlos Brown Jr., has been charged first-degree murder for Zarutska's killing in a North Carolina state court, and was also indicted in federal court on a charge of causing death on a mass transportation system.
