David Barnea, the head of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, said the country has capabilities inside Iran that have yet to be used.

Barnea made the remarks during the Prime Minister's Award Ceremony, which was given this year to the spy agency, where he claimed that while Israel won the conflict, they are still planning on continuing operations.

"We have won, and we will continue to win," Barnea said. "Though we proved that Iran is penetrable, we are not letting up. The Mossad has very strong operational capabilities, even more imaginative and powerful than before- especially inside Iran and even in the heart of Tehran."

"We will continue to build and strengthen our capabilities in Iran, to keep our eyes open from within Iran and what is happening behind closed doors, and we will not allow ideas that could endanger our security to grow," he continued.

The Mossad was awarded during this year's ceremony, attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for the so-called "beeper operation" in Lebanon, in which pager devices used by Iran-aligned Hezbollah members exploded simultaneously last year.

Barnea's comments come after his agency notably opposed a strike on senior Hamas leaders in Qatar. The leader of the group opposed killing Hamas officials in Qatar partly because such action could rupture the relationship he and his agency have cultivated with Qatar.

The Mossad's reservations about a ground operation have been one of the main contributing factors for the failure of that operation.

Since the war ended, over 700 Iranians have been arrested on charges of spying for Israel with at least nine given the death penalty. Officials called the incident an unprecedented infiltration of Iranian security services by Israeli agents.

Israel has recently come under fire for its actions in the war in Gaza. Most recently, the European Commission, the European Union's main executive body, presented a previously delayed proposal to "suspend certain trade-related provisions of the Association Agreement between the EU and Israel," in response to its genocide in Gaza.

Nevertheless, the proposed sanctions, which also included reprimands on "extremist" Israeli ministers and violent settlers, do not currently have enough support among the EU's 27 member countries to pass.
